A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
The "Inti Solace" adventure is a global solar project whose objective is the crossing of the Atlantic from spring 2018 by a solar logistics transport drone, developed and built by us.
Based on an innovative approach and a strong expertise in the fields of aeronautics and the professional drone, the idea is to combine the technology developed by SlidX with solar energy which will be the sole source of propulsion of this unmanned aircraft.
GOALS & ISSUES :
The aim is not to demonstrate the effectiveness of solar power in emerging technologies or as a source of propulsion for the vehicles of tomorrow - several other solar projects have for many years shown their effectiveness. Ultimately, our goal is to commercialize a solar unmanned logistics transport aircraft capable of carrying 35kg, with more than 50min of autonomy and powered by solar energy.
The various tsunamis, hurricanes and recent earthquakes that are affecting more and more populations have
all deeply affected us by their violence and their steady regularity.
How can we intervene quickly and provide first aid to populations in need where traditional vehicles are no longer efficient?
Our own response: the Inti Solace - the world's first solar unmanned logistics transport aircraft
Our solar unmanned transport aircraft responds effectively and cleanly to this problem: it is able to intervene
quickly in a disaster area difficult to access, provide first aid via an integrated man-machine interface, deploy
an emergency network to medical personnel, rescue shipwrecked people in the open sea, protect endangered
species against poachers and fight wildfires that ravage our Earth. The Inti Solace will impose itself in the future
as the appropriate solution because of its high level of technology and its high operational capacities enabling
it to intervene in high risk situations.
This is the challenge of the "Inti Solace » adventure because many solar projects have not resulted in a commercialization after their exploits. Let’s change this !
Climate and Social Observation : At the dawn of 2050
How to respond effectively to the social and climate issues of 2050?
We must take control of our future: the various reports and forecasts predict strong climatic and social threats for 2050. Our adventure is the beginning of an energetic revolution that will impose one of these new paradigms.
The British association Christian Aid expects the migration of 1 billion climatic refugees by 2050 and a significant increase in natural disasters. On average, more than 85,000 people die each year from natural disasters and 1.5 million die because of too long a response time. Such annual figures could have been avoided with a fleet of Inti Solace, able to intervene rapidly at crisis sites in order to provide first aid and to report areas of risk to the population.
Moreover, our oil reserves are dwindling: their lifetime is now estimated at 30 years with our current average consumption (91.2 million barrels per day in 2013) and global growth of 3% per year. We must act quickly to develop other more efficient and appropriate means for the mobility of tomorrow. The inti solace effectively responds to this problem with its clean energy propulsion and its high operational capacities: it is the precursor of a new generation of solar-powered vehicles maneuvering in future mega cities as well as remote places to bring the right solutions for the challenges of tomorrow.
Applications of Inti Solace in the field:
Transport of organs - crisis management - civil defense & fire - anti-terrorism - emergency medical assistance - logistic transport - rescue operations - search & rescue - resource management - road safety & traffic management - agriculture.
Why this crossing has not yet been realized ?
What currently limits the technology of professional drones:
Their autonomy is limited: 20-30 min with lithium-ion batteries
Their payload is not large enough to be competitive: 2kg to 10kg load
Their range of action is limited because they depend on their reduced autonomy
Safety is neglected: no protection of propellers and this is not acceptable.
OUR DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGY
What we develop to overcome existing technological barriers:
Increased autonomy: 50 min and more
Competitive payload of 35 kg without batteries
An unbeatable range of action thanks to its solar propulsion and its aerodynamic lift
Integral protection of propellers
Proof of our expertise at SLIDX :
How did we do this :
The alliance of the dronic technology combined with an aerodynamic airfoil offers an incredible lift. This innovation makes it possible to reduce the use of batteries, which considerably increases its autonomy and its range of action, while offering it great payload. Our second innovation is the integration of solar panels on its wings in order to make it autonomous and energetically equipped with 100% clean energy independently of nuclear energy.
CROSS THE ATLANTIC, and Further !
The mission "Inti Solace" will take place from spring 2018 in order to enjoy a maximum of sunshine. Its main mission will be the crossing of the ocean, but not only: the Inti Solace will have a battery of sensors capable of collecting and transferring the environmental data collected during its journey. Enough to analyze over 6000km of marine and aerial environment ! Our major donors will receive secure and privileged access to the on-board camera of the aircraft in order to be as close as possible to this feat in real time. Due to their international influence, several cities in Europe have been chosen to host the Inti Solace at the end of its journey. This will be the opportunity for us to arrive in Europe during one of the international events organized by one of these cities.
Near the crossing, the Inti Solace will be offered to an international organization with a humanitarian goal or
for the protection of the environment that Internet users will choose by a vote. In addition, 20% of the revenues
generated by the first year of commercialization of our solar aircraft will be donated to charities chosen by us.

That is why, with the mission of the Inti Solace, we aim to break the last technological locks and to commercialize large-scale solar logistic transport aircraft and thus provide a concrete example of the multiple possibilities of the mobilities of tomorrow.
This major challenge, the crossing of the Atlantic by a solar unmanned logistical transport aircraft appeared to be obvious to the founder of SlidX. This former explorer of the first WWF missions in 1995 and carrying out numerous humanitarian missions in South America and Africa has constantly taken up the challenges encountered in order to show the world that our solutions perfectly meet the transport challenges of tomorrow sustainable and eco-responsible.
A word from the Inti Solace Team:
"The choice of participatory financing is a reflection of our desire to use all the innovations and alternatives of our modern society and thus to contribute together towards the creation and industrialization of the Inti Solace. The Inti Solace team invites Internet users to join, share and support this visionary and innovative program that fully responds to societal challenges such as emergency medical assistance, civil security and environmental protection. You are allowing us to accomplish this feat. You are investing for your future and that of generations to come! " - Alexis Rufenacht - VP SlidX & head of mission of the challenge Inti Solace 2018
We have sufficient technological expertise to carry out this technical challenge. Our expertise in the aeronautical and dronic field as well as that of our partner and solar integrator have far exceeded the borders and is evidence of our skills.
The biggest obstacle of this incredible solar adventure is the administrative and legislative part, more specifically the flight authorizations. We will cross several countries including an ocean and each of the parties must be in agreement with our project and issue the appropriate authorizations to carry out this crossing, especially over international waters.
We are already in touch with the different countries concerned and the different cities of arrival. The city of arrival will be communicated to you as soon as the authorizations have been issued and we have had the go ahead to communicate on the subject.
The major risk is the modification of the arrival city, the arrival date and the flight itinerary because we are dependent of administrative delays.
This does not change the feat of such a crossing: We will cross the Atlantic with our Inti Solace and we will arrive in the Mediterranean coast at any cost, because this crossing is only the beginning of a great adventure and large-scale commercialization with the goal of saving thousands of lives. We prefer to be transparent with you by presenting the different risks related to administration and the aerial legislation.
You receive an safety & private access to the embedded camera of our solar drone and thus to benefit from a real immersive experience and see marine animal in their natural habitat during the Atlantic crossing + All of the above
You receive a personal invitation for the great arrival of the Inti Solace in Europe. The opportunity to meet the team, see the solar drone in action and many other surprises await you. + All of the above. Flight not included
