A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
For parents that want to connect, communicate and collaborate...
The Law prohibits your school from sharing other parents' details with you. mySircles app connects you with the other parents in your child's class through a secure group managed by your school's PTA. Just imagine how much easier life would be, if all your school contacts and communications were in one place.
mySircles is a parent communication app, currently being tested in just one school. Nearly 200 parents signed up within a few days of the announcement, showing a clear need from parents wanting a simpler way to communicate.
We need your help to develop this app further and make it available to parents everywhere. The funds raised will be used to develop the app and launch nationwide in the UK initially, followed by other English speaking countries and Europe. Parents everywhere face the same challenges and we are on a mission! We want children everywhere to benefit from stronger parenting communities.
mySircles came from a personal need, moving my daughter across continents and cities was difficult enough, without the added complexity of not being able to reach out to the parents of children in her class at school.
No parent wants their child to experience the anxiety that comes when moving their child to a new school. Knowing who the other parents at school are and being able to easily connect with them is a real struggle for parents. In addition, keeping on top of school-related matters can be challenging, particularly if you are juggling work and home.
mySircles will enable parents to join the class their child belongs to and start to communicate with other parents. Confusion about homework, lost spelling lists and the struggles of organising play dates will be a thing of the past.
mySircles is a dedicated platform for parents with children at school and is different from other platforms, because as children move schools, mySircles moves with them.
It doesn't just stop there, parents and carers can create and join Activity groups that their children belong to and organise lift share, or create custom groups for birthday parties, friendship groups and so much more.
The Parent-Teacher Associations (PTA) are keen to find an easier and more effective method to communicate with parents - so simple, but so needed!
mySircles will have the following features, replacing the ad-hoc need to communicate through email, chat, social media and text:
mySircles - these are the Class and Activity groups a child / children belong to. Simply post a question into mySircles and it will be sent to all the relevant parents;
Contacts - an easy and automatic way to store the contact details of parents that are in your child's Class and Activity groups;
Chat - Parents can chat effortlessly to any parent in their Contacts List; and
myPins - a feature that allows important information to be pinned to the parents very own pin board - super organised and no need to go scrolling through messages looking for information.
We would love to get more female investors too! On a mission to change the trend here, mySircles would welcome Mums who can see the true potential of the app. Babita (Owner & Founder) is passionate about helping female entrepreneurs and mySircles is a perfect solution to help busy Mums juggling work and home.
Missing out on key pieces of information can have a real detrimental impact on your child, whether it be world book day, a club being cancelled or even the scheduling of a test. It makes your heart sink when you realise you have forgotten or missed something, you feel like you’ve your child down. And quite often, these things are discussed at the school gate - easily missed if you are rushing to get to work.
Don't just take our word for it!
"mySircles is a quick and efficient way for parents to communicate and connect with each other; to ask each other the kind of incidental questions they might ask each other at the school gates. Over the years Spinney parents have used their initiative to organise What’sApp and Facebook groups, so we know that the need for an APP like this is out there. mySircles seems like the perfect solution! This easily downloadable app allows parents to invite other parents to the group but with one parent possibly from the PTA starting things off and liaising with the school we can ensure that all the right information gets to our families quickly and easily when they need it. And best of all they can ask each other! It’s the wisdom of the crowd! Rachel Snape , Head at Spinney Primary School
“As a school we are always eager to maximise and simplify the ways we communicate with parents and we acknowledge that parent-to-parent communications are as valuable as school-to-parent communications for our broader school community. Revisions to Data Protection laws a number of years ago now prohibit us from distributing parent contact details as part of class lists. Therefore the development and implementation of apps designed to overcome this hurdle will be much welcomed by us at St Faith’s and no doubt throughout the education sector.”
Mr Brendan Mageean, Director of Communications, St Faith’s School
The biggest risk is around timing. The new academic year starts in September and this would be the ideal launch time, as parents are starting to get to know each other.
We have spent much time over the last 2 years, learning about development of Apps and have now secured a solid team that can help deliver mySircles. Schools clearly are keen to find a better way of supporting parent communication and feedback has been very positive. The next challenge is to build awareness of the app, so schools and PTAs know they can offer mySircles to their parents.
