Exotechnology Database / Milky Way Galaxy / Intelligent Species / Par

Par are a prime example of a subservient race that has been fully integrated into the Kingdom. They skirt the edge of humanoid classification with their minimal torso, their boneless legs, and their prehensile second spine/tail.

They were absorbed early in the Kingdom's initial expansion around 3 million year ago. According to official reports they had a primitive society much like humanity in the early 20th century when they were absorbed. Since that point they've been integrated as a cog in the Kingdom machine.

Most Par act as either soldiers or guards within the Kingdom military, navy, and police forces. They can be found on most Kingdom worlds and are very numerous. The last Kingdom census had their species numbering over 2 trillion strong across their territory.

Through selective breeding and extensive genetic manipulation through the generations there are several different distinct "races" of Par. Each one can exist in a different set of environments which helps them in their roles as Kingdom enforcers.

Culturally they have been completely absorbed by the Kingdom as a whole. There is nothing distinctly "Par" about any of what little art, entertainment, and writing they have left. Officially we have good diplomatic relations with them but only because they are a part of the Kingdom. We cannot have private relations with their species since they are so inexplicably a part of the Kingdom government that the thought of being separate from them is alien to them.

To this point we have not had any freelance agents from this species like we have had from several other Kingdom species. It is unlikely there will be any that have the mental fortitude to break from their mold and work for a different government.

Examples of their biology, combat strategies, and economy will be detailed in the next sections. While they might not be the most imaginative of species they should be studied.
