MARY BRAGG IS RECORDING A NEW ALBUM
Hey y'all! I'm about to record my third studio album, with Lee Alexander as producer, Tom Schick as engineer, and Lee's and Norah Jones' home studio as the place where all the magic will happen.
I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!
Having self-released two albums so far, this time around I wanna up the ante. That's why I'm asking for your help. On November 29, we'll start recording. In mid-December, we'll start mixing. In January, the record will be mastered, photos will be taken and artwork will be created. Discs will be pressed, a release date will be set, and the whole kit & kaboodle will be promoted. It's a massive project that costs a heap of money.
My super amazing band includes:
-Jimmy Sullivan on upright and electric bass
-Steve Elliot, Rich Hinman and Adam Levy on guitars
-Jordan Perlson and Brian Wolfe on drums
-Mike Cassedy on keys
-Marika Hughes on cello
What a cast of players!!!
GOODS UP FOR GRABS
You can pledge as little as $10 or as much as $5,000. The more you give,
the more you get! Here are some of the things in the pipeline:
-signed copy of the new album in advance of the release date
-my limited edition EP "10/10/10" in your mailbox by 12/20/10
-my limited edition 2010 Christmas EP in your mailbox by 12/20/10
-photos & videos from the studio available exclusively to Kickstarter backers
-T-shirts and other goodies
INTANGIBLES UP FOR GRABS
-a private concert for you and your friends at your house or venue of choice
-hang out during my super cool photo shoot with Corey Hayes
-swanky dinner date with me and the band in your hometown!
-I will write and record a SONG for YOU!
WHAT ELSE YOU CAN DO
Spread the word! Please encourage your friends, family, and fellow music lovers to join you in backing this project. Post this link to your Facebook page. Tweet about it! Tell your cousins over Thanksgiving that you're a super-cool backer and they should be too. :)
The goal is to raise $16,722, but the total project actually costs much more than that. That's the cool thing about Kickstarter - it doesn't put a cap on pledges.
But, if I don't reach my goal, none of the pledges will be fulfilled, and none of the aforementioned prizes will be delivered. What a drag that would be!
So if you've ever had a hankerin' to lend a hand in support of the arts, jump in with me and let's make this happen.
Thank you so much for your time, consideration, and pledges!
All my best,
