When Simtex created the first Master of Orion game it began an era when new brilliant games emerged with revolutionary ideas and many groundbreaking solutions. Master of Orion I and II revolutionized the entire 4X space strategy genre. After them, there were years of enormous progress in graphics and visual effects... but what about progress in gameplay? Uhm... the answer is that even today, we're still playing a game that was released in 1996.
But in 2012 we started to change this...
Yes, over two years ago we decided to take a brave step and try to refresh the good old 4x genre. To create a game that we had dreamed about for many years: a game in which we want to play ourselves. A game which would be the spiritual successor to old 4x space turn-based strategies! Old values, but with new content and possibilities wrapped in new shiny package. And so project M.O.R.E. began.
It was really an earthquake. Thanks to your great support, we created and successfully conducted our first Kickstarter campaign for our dream game. The response from people gathered here was unbelievable, and the last days and hours of that campaign were literally EPIC! What was happening was simply out of this world, as one stretch goal after another was achieved. It was amazing, our backers were amazing!
Since deciding to create this game, and seeing how much support we have had from the community, we realised we had to think big. We decided to change the game engine from XNA to UNITY, which created new opportunities for us. We've also extended our gameplay ideas, adding new features, many of which were proposed by our community on our forums. With this great responsibility lying on us, armed with belief in success, we start realizing our and our backers’ dreams.
M.O.R.E. ( Military. Organisation. Research. Economy. ) is a 4X turn-based strategy game, where you must lead your people from a single world to become a galaxy-spanning empire, managing the economics, research, diplomacy and warfare required for victory. With up to twenty unique races to choose from and dozens of options for your games, we believe M.O.R.E. is the successor to Master of Orion II that we - and you - have been waiting for.
M.O.R.E. will be released in English, German, Spanish, Russian, Polish and others. It contains 20 alien races, each with unique music, interfaces, spaceship modules and military tactics. Our game includes the creation of spaceships from predefined parts, taming space monsters, aliens living on gas giants and many other unique features. This game will require a minimum screen resolution of 1280x720, and will be released for PC, MAC and LINUX platforms.

Right now, everything you see on our videos and pictures is already done in our game! Even now, we are still constantly working at full speed to bring you the best game we can, and start playing M.O.R.E. with you! However, we see other possibilities to expand M.O.R.E. and make it more like the AAA quality game we know you want to see.
This is our target for this campaign and for this we ask for a little more of your support. We want to make this game as good as possible, by creating some add-ons and new features which will make M.O.R.E. a more complete product. But reaching for your intellect isn't enough for us. We also want to improve graphics, animations, sound effects, and music as much as we can. Because of that, it would be best to maintain all of our coworkers working on this game for as long as we can, so we will be able to realize most of our ideas.
The most important thing though, is that our main target isn't threatened in any way. Even if this campaign doesn’t succeed, we promise that you will still see M.O.R.E. released. This will just make it better.
We really don't want to release this game without them, but the creation of these new features requires additional work. Here are the modules / adjustments which we want to add to our game with your support:
$10,000 – Deep Space Stations.
If we achieve our main goal, we will add a very big and important feature – Deep Space Stations. Positioned in the void between the stars, these stations will resupply your ships, as well as acting as extending your scanning range and acting as mighty defensive fortresses. Adding them to our space map will create new great strategic possibilities. It would be awesome, right? So that’s our main goal in this campaign.
$12,000 - Enchanced Omnipedia.
Create additional content for game omnipedia - would you like to read more about race which you are playing? Discover animosity between clans? Immerse yourself into details of alien cultures? Read about beverages, cuisines, means of transport or other interesting things? If so, help us hire our writer for additional time.
$15,000 – Improved Graphics.
New add-ons will need new graphics, so if we achieve this level, one of our artists will still be working on new parts of the interface. He will also be polishing existing layouts to give you the best possible and most intuitive interface, ensuring that you can get to grips with M.O.R.E. much more easily.
Quick Battle Mode.
4X games often require you to invest heavily in the game before you get to the big battles. However, if we can achieve this level, we will create a unique game mode letting you jump straight into a battle, either against the AI or other players, with only a few minutes of preparation.
$21,000 - Additional Sound Effects.
We can go with simple SFX for our game… or we can create professional ones. If we can raise this much, we will create top quality sound effects for our game, making the game that much more involving for you. We will also add alien voices & sounds to the diplomacy, science and espionage screens.
$24,000 - Added Backgrounds Animations.
Our diplomatic, science and espionage screens can be further improved, with all manner of details added to make them more immersive. It’s not enough to simply make these things functional – we want to transport you into a living, breathing galaxy.
$29,000 – Additional Music.
You already heard some of our in game music created by our musician – we certainly love his work. So, if we reach this goal, you will enable him to work on additional melodies, so that you can enjoy more of his superb music in M.O.R.E.!
$34,000 - Galaxy Editor.
With the Galaxy Editor, you will be able to create your own galaxy with all manner of unique features. Want to create a tree or starfish shaped galaxy? If we succeed, you will be able to do all this, which will introduce amazing new strategies to our game. All this with star systems either randomly-created or created by you! Additionally, you will be able to share your galaxy map with our community.
$39,000 - Advanced Space Battles.
In this module we will implement modular damage mechanisms for your ships. For example, you may choose not to fire on any particular sub-system, giving you a greater chance of hitting the spaceship, or you may instead try to aim at a particular system, be it engines, weapons, the shield generator, and so on, in the hope of destroying that system. The tactical possibilities offered by this design, in combination with our existing ship customization options will offer amazing new gameplay options for you.
If we cross the $39,000 line, we will add new talented people to our team, so that we will be able to give you even more of M.O.R.E.
For supporting our project and helping us creating better game, we are offering you rewards. We have divided them to 3 categories:

If you are a previous Kickstarter backer, or you pre-ordered M.O.R.E. earlier through our website, you can upgrade your level of support, and receive an appropriate reward. You can check your support level on our webpage here. If you want to upgrade to a higher tier (for example from Bronze to Gold) simply add the cost of all upgrade tiers which you want to achieve. In our example it will be: $23 bronze>silver, $29 silver>gold, so it will be $52 total from upgrade from Bronze to Gold version.

So, now we’re a little more experienced, so we can bring you a more accurate roadmap.
First, we are planning to start the first pre-alpha tests among a select few of our backers very soon – in fact, it should start during this Kickstarter campaign. We’re going to be working hard to release the Alpha version shortly after it, but again, we’re not going to be rushed into releasing it prematurely.
After the Alpha release, we will have plenty of debugging to do, not to mention the many features that won’t be present in the Alpha release. The space battles section and ship design module will be coming out at this point, for example. That means that our current plan is to release beta in the spring, hopefully in time for Easter.
With the Beta out, we will finish the AI, continue fixing bugs etc... hopefully in time to release M.O.R.E. Gamma to all of our backers & those who pre-ordered it by Summer 2015. With only a little luck, all our backers will be able to play M.O.R.E. within the next ten months.
Finally, we aim to have finished everything by December 2015, when we will be sending out our boxed versions, physical rewards and the like. Your digital part of rewards will be delivered earlier - in the Gamma stage. We know this means waiting a full year, but trust us when we say that the wait will have been worth it.
We already had propositions from many publishers or investors, all of whom wanted to support our cause after seeing our potential and ideas, but we want to create this game whilst being fully independent, and without compromising our vision of what M.O.R.E. should be like.
In addition, we are also here to give people another opportunity to get on board with us. Earlier, some people worried that we wouldn’t be able to create such a game, or that what we did create would not be a worthy successor to Master of Orion II. I hope that our work and progress so far proves to you that our team is quite capable of creating this game.
We also want to reach those people who simply missed our project when the original Kickstarter campaign was running. We're still selling copies of M.O.R.E. via pre-orders on our site... but we also want to reach a wider audience, and get more people interested in our game.

We are team of people from Poland, the US and other countries. Our team consists of eight IT specialists, artists, musicians and other professionals, though we occasionally hire other professionals to create specific parts for our game. We have experience with running a company, working in IT, - and of course, two years of working on M.O.R.E.
We’ve also been to events like Po(g)radajmy in Katowice, or Pixel Heaven in Warsaw, where we met with some of our fans. It's also possible that we will visit the US next year, so you will be able to meet with us there.
Here on the web, we are trying to keep our community informed by monthly Kickstarter updates, and with short, frequent updates on our forums.
As our previous backers can tell anyone who asks, we are trying to answer all questions and are in regular contact with our fans and backers on our forums – we definitely value all the feedback you can give us. And there is more coming, as during this Kickstarter we plan to release many more details about M.O.R.E. and how it will look and play when you get your hands on it.

Risks and challenges
Our greatest risk is our timetable. There are always some unpredicted events or temptations with adding and refining features, both of which can delay our project. But having been working on M.O.R.E. for over two years, we are quite aware of the work which we have ahead of us. Besides that, we hope that we've already proved our skill and dedication to all of you, and whatever happens, we are in a far better position now than we were during our first campaign. We wouldn't be here now if we weren't capable of overcoming the problems we’ve had so far, and as such we’re confident of our ability to handle anything else that comes up.
Our goal is to create M.O.R.E. as a game which will refresh the 4x space strategy genre, and we are sure that we will achieve that!
