Hello, I’m Victoria, an award winning emerging contemporary silversmith based in Sheffield. After graduating from University in 2015 I have been on a 2 year starter studio programme for silversmiths at Yorkshire Artspace. I’ll soon be coming to the end of this wonderful programme and I’m now taking the next exciting step in my career and moving into my own workshop; this is where I need your help!
This campaign will enable me to purchase the tools and machinery I need for my new permanent studio space. Please take a look through the list of rewards which includes bespoke jewellery, one-off silverware and ring-making workshops.
For the last two years I have been lucky enough to share a large workshop where I have had access to silversmithing tools and machinery. Without this well-equipped facility I wouldn’t have been able to hone my practice, design and create my collections, take my work across the country to craft fairs and exhibitions or take on commissions. This fantastic workshop has enabled me to successfully take the first steps in a profession which I love.
This September I’ll be leaving the starter studio and taking on my own space within the same complex at Yorkshire Artspace - Studio 25. I am delighted to be able to stay in this creative environment, but to continue developing my practice I have to acquire all the equipment necessary for a silversmithing and jewellery workshop and this is hugely expensive. For example I will need a brazing hearth and torch, a steel bench block, a bench sander, a pickle tank and a polishing motor, not to mention a wide range of specialist tools.
I am hoping that this campaign will enable me to purchase the tools and machinery I need for my new permanent studio space. I would greatly appreciate your help in my early career as a contemporary silversmith who is passionate about keeping the tradition of silversmithing in Sheffield alive.
Thank you for your support,
Risks and challenges
Delivering quality jewellery and silverware is very important to me, so I have tried to identify any potential risks and limit them as much as possible.
Contingency time has been factored into the campaign to allow for any unforeseen setbacks in production.
In the unusual event that any delays occur, I would keep my backers fully informed and notified of expected delivery dates. If my project is successful with more backers than anticipated, I will prioritise production of rewards in pledge order.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
