The Hall Of Heroes of Varaskel

We have a very original reward level: A Statue with your Name in the Hall of Heroes of Varaskel

So, what is the Hall of Heroes?

The Hall of Heroes is an enormous mausoleum dedicated to the heroes who fought in the great war against the ogres, the war known as “First Blood”.

When the Xulnari gave life to the first humans in Xulima, the humans found themselves in the middle of a vast continent dominated by their last creation, the ogre race. It did not take much time before war broke out. The ogres were numerous and fierce and soon began to decimate the humans. A mere 400 years after they first came into existence, the humans soon found themselves on the brink of extinction…

The Twenty Heroes

At that moment the Lords of Xulima chose to subtly intervene in the conflict. They chose 20 of the most gifted humans and bestowed upon them gifts and wisdom to strengthen their cause. The twenty became powerful and, above all, intelligent, and just when it seemed that the fate of men was sealed, they rose up and led their armies to victory.

The ogres quickly learned to fear them and withdrew. Defeated, the ogre race diminished and those that were left became wild, nomadic creatures who inhabit the remote places of Xulima.

In gratitude, the humans built the Hall of Heroes in the region of Varaskel and erected a statue for each of their deliverers with inscriptions bearing their names and deeds. In times past, people from all regions traveled far to visit the statues and lay flowers and gold coins at the feet of their heroes in thanks for saving the human race.

The Ruin

Unfortunately, the passage of time brought ruin to this amazing place. The dragon Morkaur, who had dwelled in Pernitia, wanted to plunder the Hall of Heroes. He destroyed the place and all those inside; the humans who tried to stop him were no match for his strength. In a twist of fate, he too found his ruin when, in his quest for destruction, the stone arches of mausoleum collapsed on his head.

Thereafter, the Hall of Heroes became a cursed and forgotten place. The desert sands of Pernitia blew from the east, covering a large part of Varaskel. Through it all, the twenty statues still stood, and still do now. According to legend, they guard an incredible treasure, which only those with the strength and wisdom of the twenty will be able to achieve...

Would you like to be one of the 20 heroes?

If you contribute at this level, your name will be used as one of the 20 heroes and you will be able to choose the statue that represents you with an inscription boasting of your deeds. You will be forever immortalized in one of the most amazing and ancient places of Xulima. There are only 16 statues left as the others were picked up by contributors to our last campaign.

Don’t be left without your statue!

It's been quite a month for up-and-coming games with a rich story/setting. This time, we'd like to send a shout-out to our friends over at Stasis who are also working on an Isometric-style game. This particular one is a Sci-Fi adventure, with gameplay akin to the good old point-and-click games filled with ingenious puzzles. Have fond memories of The Dig? This might be a project you will like.

@Hideo: Solving the secret behind the Hall of Heroes is part of the adventure. We only wanted to show a little of that mystic place without revealing too much. If you are confused, perfect, that was our intention, you will have to play the game to know more! :o)

I got a bit confused/disappointed with that video.
After the player performed those chants/sprinkle I was expecting the statues to come back to life.
      Yet nothing happened.

Very nice! The video is getting me really excited for the game! Seems like there will be a puzzle involving those statues. The dragon bones and the game in general looks great :)
