Day 1: The Beacons are Lit!
The amount of support we received in such a short space of time was truly overwhelming. I think it hit me most of all when my wife turned to me and said, "Isn't amazing that so many people believe in the idea as much as we do?" and I have to say, it really is.
After speaking with a few of our backers, I keep thinking back to one of the key moments that lead to this campaign. At the end of last year we went to an excellent convention in London called Dragonmeet. We always have a great time there but thanks to Will (from Encounter Roleplay) we met some awesome, like-minded people.
Will arranged a meet up with a ton of creative people that all shared a passion for tabletop games, it was exactly the thing I needed. We shared what we were creating with each other and I got some really motivating feedback about our project.
The book looks so much better now than the sample we showed them back then but we drove to keep improving the design and move forward. The whole experience was amazing and I made some good friends in the process, some of whom have pledged to this campaign! (Hi!)
Now back to the present day, the campaign is in full swing. I have an update regarding the production that will commence after the Kickstarter. Louise (my wife, project manager and all-round goddess of organisation) is speaking with our publisher tomorrow to get things in motion and to discuss specifics (we are hoping to be able to add a few more taverns). Our aim is to be able to get things started the moment the campaign ends, provided we are successful of course. It's all very exciting at the moment and I will keep you updated with any developments as they happen.
One of our backers mentioned it would help if you had some more information about us, so in the next post I will tell you a little more about us and how we got here.
That's all for this mini-update but I mainly just wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you so much for your support, you have no idea how much it means to us!
We so want this to be a success so we can show you the amazing work that has been put into this project. So spread the word and tell everyone you know about the campaign! Tell every blogger, streamer, gamer and dreamer!
Thank you for being a part of our project!
