In the past few months, there have been news about the mural and the Glen Echo Park, and I'd like to keep you posted.

ALTernative is honored to receive the 2012 Presidential Award award from Columbus Landmarks Foundation. The award committee was particularly impressed by the project's wide range of community collaboration and creativity in raising awareness for historical structure.

Pictures of Ohio Birds Mural are included in the current exhibition, Design in the Hood, now on display at Dinin' Hall (400 W. Rich). The exhibit explores the role of art and design in transforming neighborhoods and making positive impact.

Upon the request initiated by United Crestview Area Neighbors (UCAN), the city of Columbus, through theUrban Infrastructure Recovery Fund (UIRF) Program, will allocate $25,000 to pave/ repave the walkway from Glen Echo Park to the steps at the Indianola Bridge. This will be a great improvement to the park and the mural!

We'll be in touch very soon!

Dear All,

It's very exciting to let you know the Ohio Birds Mural is in the making! Clint Davidson, the artist, has started painting since Monday ( June 18 ) and so far many birds on the south walls are outlined. For a day-to-day progress, please visit our Facebook page, we post pictures to keep you in the loop.

Also, we want to let you know once our funding campaign ends (on June 28), you will receive our survey, requesting your information about, depending on your support level, what size of the t-shirt you would like, which birds you prefer, and how you would like the dedication appear. We'll try our best to satisfy your request, even though we can't guarantee. But we'll make sure to communicate with you for information through email.

In the meantime, please go visit the Indianola Ave Bridge underpass and say hi to Clint and the birds. Clint usually works down there during the day! He loves having visitors!

In the meantime, we'd like to keep the strong momentum going as many neighbors, birds enthusiasts, and public art supporters are still wanting to support this project. If extra fund allows, we plan on putting an anti-graffiti coating to protect the mural and paving the pathways to ensure easy accessibility of the mural. All these improvements will be made possible with more contributions from you, your friends, and you neighbors! Please continue to spread the word and make this artistic and education Ohio Birds Mural possible!
