Welcome back! The last time we did this, we brought Luna to life by creating a vinyl art toy and now we are asking for your help once again to tell her story. Over the past year we have written, polished, and reworked the tale that now gives our once static character depth and purpose. With the help of our friends 64 Colors, we have painted the imagery of Luna’s world into a magical landscape. We call it the “Lunaverse” and with your help we can turn this dream into a reality. To learn more about this project, please check out the details below.
Long before the Luna toy was successfully funded here on Kickstarter, The Bots started laying the groundwork for what they wanted her to become. Built within a beautiful universe that is masterfully illustrated by 64 Colors, Luna and the Magical Night Lights is more than just a children’s book, it is an art book for kids and collectors alike. With a story that deals with life, death, and celebration from one end of the world to the other, it answers some of the biggest mysteries of Luna while still building an even deeper mythos to be explored.
Presented as a hardcover 8”x8” book, Luna’s story will unfold in 22 full color pages. Printed by a Cincinnati based publisher, each page will be done on high quality paper.
The $20,000 goal for the project will go towards covering:
- Illustrator’s commission
- Production and shipping costs
- Backer rewards
- Kickstarter fees
Luna and the Magical Night Lights is written by The Bots, illustrated by 64 Colors, and produced by UVD Toys.

Risks and challenges
While this isn’t our first Kickstarter, it is our first foray into book production and we fully expect the process won’t be without its hiccups. However, we all have experience in production and realize that expecting the unexpected is part of the process. With that said, the book will be locally printed enabling us to handle any issues in person and also in a timely manner. Once the project is funded and the art complete, production of the book will take place immediately and all rewards will be shipped.
Expected timeline of project once funded:
2-3 months to complete book illustrations
3 months for publishing
Shipping approximately in August 2018
