Progress Report

I have now completed the construction guide for the DIY kits!

Please find it here -

I'm aware that things have been moving slower than I promised, so I'd like to take a moment to explain a few of the difficulties encountered.

It took a lot more time and effort than expected to create the instructions for the DIY kits - about 1 weeks solid work. However, I think they are very clear and detailed with nearly 100 pages packed full of images. Enjoy!

Although some of the DIY kits have already been shipped, a number have been delayed because it has been difficult to get hold of the the wood effect wrap. This is only a temporary issue. I did not have the specific part number for the walnut (there are more than one variant) and so needed to get a sample. That sample went missing in the post and I only arrived today. Now I know the part I can order what is needed and ship the remaining DIY kits!

One of the bigger delays experienced was due to the PCBs needing to be individually cleaned and checked. Although the parts are all in the right places, a close inspection shows many had excess solder paste remaining between the small pins of the chips. I've had to clean these carefully by hand and then test each and every one. It is a very time consuming process, but at least you can be assured of the quality.

The good news is that after discussion with the manufacturer they have moved their assembly process to a new plant with better capabilities as well as agreeing to personally check all items before shipping, so it won't happen again.

Enough about delays, next week I will begin construction of the product LBM! It will be rewarding to see the real veneer items coming together, they will look splendid. Even those of you who are getting the ready-made LBM may find it interesting to view the construction guide. You will see how much work and detail goes into these little speakers!

I hope to ship most of the product before Christmas so you can enjoy good tunes in the festive season :)

A final note that anybody who has not sent me their phone number, please do so. UPS need this for shipping in case they can not find your address or you are out.

Best regards,
