Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues,
Hunt & Light asks you to support a new voice this National Poetry Month. We are an independent hand-publisher of beautiful volumes of poetry. Our first collection, *****Original Message***** by Matthew Frazier, launched at Poet's House in New York to a crowd of 150 people. There is a great video of the event by Ben Cawiezell on our homepage at www.huntandlight.com.
*****Original Message***** was produced thanks to the generosity of a group of individuals who believe new poetry is important. A local business, Montauk Printing, made the book as perfect as the volunteer art director and designer envisioned it. A few thoughtful and creative publicists helped spread the word about the launch at Poet's House, a great place for poetry. We spoke with friendly booksellers in the Hamptons, New York, and London, who agreed to carry the books. They are BookHampton, Harbor Books, Berl's Poetry, Posman Books, Housing Works, McNally Jackson, Engine and The Society Club (UK). Our books are also available on Easy and Amazon.com.
For our second book, Constellations by Esther Mathieu, we decided to run a campaign during National Poetry Month to raise funds for printing and a book tour. Esther writes about how the particular things of this world relate to the universe, in melodic language. This campaign is not just about poetry, but a way for us to help others achieve their dreams. Please take a minute to donate, and then share our cause with family, friends and colleagues.

Risks and challenges
The challenges we may face after successfully funding this project are getting the book printed in a timely manner to sell it at Printer's Row Book Festival in Chicago in early June. It's a tight deadline, but we are working with Radix Media in Brooklyn, locally owned and operated, to make it happen.
We are making a second round of edits for Constellations by Esther Mathieu, as the book cover is being designed, and event planning happens for a series of book launch events at NOoSPERE gallery in Manhattan, Harbor Books in Sag Harbor, and at Engine in Maine, with the sponsorship of Engine and Maine Writer's Alliance.
If we secure $5,000 funding by May 1st, then Hunt & Light will be able to print Constellations in May, release it in Chicago, our bookstore outlets, and online, then put Esther on a book tour this summer, and early fall.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
