Following the successful launch of our first episode, "The Warlock of Firetop Mountain: The Hero's Quest", we now want continue our 'Fighting Fantasy' audio drama in a full-fledged, full-cast, multi-episode series.
If you've not yet heard the first episode, "The Warlock of Firetop Mountain: The Hero's Quest", you can find out more about it on our website.
We now want to take an intrepid adventurer on further dangerous quests, inspired by other classic gamebooks in the classic Fighting Fantasy range.
We'll be visiting The Forest of Doom, The Citadel of Chaos and the legendary Deathtrap Dungeon, as well as encountering The Creature of Havoc...
The series will take the form of 4 x 50 minutes episodes, each based on a different gamebook, available as download and CD.
We have already sourced the official rights and begun pre-production. Part of our production budget is already into place, but we're here on Kickstarter to help bolster it, so that we can make the best possible product, as our ambitions outstretch our available budget. We need your support to make it happen!
We are therefore offer up a host of goodies, in the hope that you will support our adventures, including downloads, CDs, thank you credits, signed scripts and even the chance to make a cameo appearance in the series itself!
The producers, Fox Yason productions, have previously provided the sound design for a large number of other audio drama ranges: including Warhammer, The Avengers, Torchwood and Doctor Who.
You'll be able to follow the entire production process on our facebook page.
Risks and challenges
As with all creative endeavors, there are some small risks with the production, but we're confident that these are much likely to result in a delayed delivery than a failure to deliver.
All scripts and final recordings need to be approved by the copyright holders, Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone, which may necessitate some unexpected changes.
Many of the key members of our production team are giving their time free of charge, so in the unlikely event of any serious 'life complications', we're more likely to delay production than find replacements for them.
Having already successfully released "The Warlock of Firetop Mountain: The Hero's Quest," we're confident that we understand the challenges ahead and are ready to face them.
We will be posting regularly updates on the production process here and on the 'Fighting Fantasy Audio Drama' Facebook page.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
