Are you sick and tired of wasting 60+ dollars on a video game you can literally destroy in two days time? Or tired of playing the same old game just reskinned and repackaged? The change is here and its name is Aylus: Exiled Dominion by Dark Ice Studios. A revolutionary new PC game that utilizes the latest technologies like Oculus Rift and Pixologic Zbrush in its development and implementation! The game itself is a RPG with a server based multiplayer that allows for nearly 200 people to join your game and explore the vast worlds. Sporting a unique one of a kind Vigor System and an in-depth leveling system that would rival games like World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy, and Star Wars. Release of the Alpha Access Planned Late 2015-Mid 2016, while we accept a pushed back date do to technical reasons a reality.

The Level Up System will be economic in a sense. When you get experienceyou can either keep the XP, Max out and level up restarting your current XP count at 0, or you can spend your XP on a huge skill list to boost specific stats (for example,Combat Regen : +10 HP every 5 secs for 2000XP). There will be a lot of skills you will not be able to get from the start because your Max XP wont be high enough.
Leveling Up will not increase any of your stats,it will only show how experienced you are and increase your XP pool for spending. Increasing your stats will come from spent skills or found stones across the world.
So you can either spend XP on skills or spend it all to level up and buy more expensive skills later.
The Gameplay will be open world exploration with both hack n slash and shooter concepts, doing quests to level up and add many skills to your character, with Dungeons to Test the Player's Ability. The Dungeons will be intentionally difficult and not for everybody.We are considering adding random events (Red Dead -esque) and strike like difficulty dungeons (Destiny -esque).
The HUD will be minimalist for max immersion.
The Design of the game along with each countries theme will have many Landmarks and Monuments to Utilize the Oculus Rift.
We're not an MMO. We're an Online RPG
What we plan to release (*but is not yet final) for the multiplayer is going to be dynamic adventure PVP and PVE, anybody can choose to attack you anywhere at anytime,so it'd be a good idea to bring friends along for mutual protection. Server based selection to choose your game.
Competitive Mode
We also are thinking of making a competitive option for free for all arena combat and adding arena combat maps and small skirmishing areas called "Strife" where you go to a nearby fort and join at signal flags.
Single Player
We are thinking of maybe having a single player and that decision may be decided by us or public interest.

We want to be a Virtual Reality Role Playing Game
If we planned to be an online RPG with Oculus Capabilities we had to get that off the check list pretty early.
Oculus rift is planning to be one of the main selling points but is not necessary and we will soon implement it as a toggleable feature switching from First Person to Third Person to Oculus 3D.
Aylus is a moon that orbits the planet Aeden and contains Four major continents and varying sub-continents.
How the game will start is you will be placed on the sub continent of Galos home of Port Temor, den of international export, transport, and smuggling.You will then choose which of the Four continents will be your home country and Starting Area.
E'sran is the Greed continent.
Biome: Desert / Grassland
Architecture / Style : Islamic / Turkish-Indian
Main Exports: Oils (item that greatly refuels mana), Spices, precious stones, luxury items
Description: the Seran people all have the belief that when money comes there way that all world problems will be solved and that life will be perfect. With this mindset E'sran is the country with the top-most thievery problem. The vast majority is poor but for the select few that have managed to keep fortune in the dusty wasteland all head to Dornsife, the largest walled city in E'sran. Giant totems were constructed ages ago so lost travelers of the sand can make their way to Dornsife or Sacha. Since the only wildlife seeming to be found in the vast desert are reptilian most of the populations main occupation is fishermen,while some head deep into the desert to mine for jasper stone,and others head to the east to drill for oil deposits.Although as a whole E'sran is a large continent, only 75% of it belongs to the Seran people while the south end up to the desert is conquered by the war idolizing country of Cordova.
Sohcan is the power continent.
Biome: Temperate
Architecture: Medieval English / Irish
Main Exports: Top-class Weaponry, Lumber, Mosses (health item base ingredient), Precious Metals, Precious Stones, Hides, Sell swords, Cultural Exports.
Description: Sohcan is the east most country that bases its mindset that it must push itself to be the best at whatever it strives for. With this pride the sohcan people tend to make top quality weapons, armor, literature, artworks and so on. With the hardworking peoples sense of community the villages, outposts and castles are heavily fortified and well kept. Their main occupation for the most of the people would be agricultural and lumber harvesting while the most prideful join the military.Although as a whole Sohcan is a large continent, only 90% of it belongs to the Sohcan people while the south end up to Windsfield is conquered by the war idolizing country of Cordova.
Cordova is the Imperial / Legacy continent.
Biome: Tropical / Crag
Architecture: Roman / Greek
Main Exports: Charms,Spells,Jinxes and Curses, Lumber, Precious Metals, Cultural Exports, Exotic Exports.
Description: Cordova is the south most imperial country with strong devotion to the eternal emperor. Emperor Roe of Odain is a Seran immigrant that rose to power with a Relic Sword, a sword that grants the holder eternal power. The Cordovan main mindset is to live a life to be remembered by all and the will of their country is to unite the world into one whole Cordova. How to rise to emperor is simple, arrive to the capitol of Seversk and challenge the current Emperor to a duel to the death. Every Cordovan Citizen at the coming of age must serve in their military efforts. Cordova is also the birthplace of Sorcery which is one of the reasons their efficiency in combat is so high, and also lead to a total genocide of the elven race with the discovery of pyromancy, the only remnants of the elven people are their human worshipers in druid villages. Although Cordova bases its knowledge highly on the magical arts it is the religious capital of the world. One of the highest tourist attractions to Cordova is The Blood Red River of Seversk with is colored by microbes that flow north from the Tome Volcano.
Belanon is the Knowledge continent. Biome: Temperate / Tundra
Architecture: (current Belanon) Industrial age Britain, (ancient Belanon)

Description: Belanon is the country of knowledge and wishes to document all possible things in the pursuit of simply to know. With the high intelligence their life expectancy is high along with their greatest and worst invention, the firearm. Because of the clear advantage of being an age ahead of all the rest of the world it is a hermit country that keeps all to itself so no other country can have that kind of power, all travelers coming towards the continent are eliminated by the governments best appointed top snipers.In this seclusion and high life expectancy populations of eastern Belanon are beyond high and secret government cullings of the population are often. This lead to civil war between the steel military of the east and the rebels in the wilderness to the west.The people of Belanon are a highly atheist or agnostic people and even though they have high regards for knowledge they do not rule out that magic is an important tool to combat and have near perfection in the defensive magics.
For Armor we're planning on doing Armor after we are done with all the Animations for the main player to save changing models to the character body, but don't worry, we plan on having just as much armor as we will weapons.
We plan to make Many Weapons Types, the weapons below are ones we already made and we plan to use them in more ways then just buffing the stats (such as, If its different we'll change the texture and maybe add particles)
Animations: Each Weapon Types will have their own preferred animations (such as, Thrusting, Slashing, Heavy, etc...) We plan to have you to be able to Map your preferred animation types to your LeftClick and RightClick from the skills menu.
Aylus will have many creatures Large and small for you to hunt down and gather resources to make various types of weapons and armor.
There may be four continents but more than four conflicts
Aylus will be full of cities and villages, each with there own alliances, religions and so on. Some conflicts may be minor such as a small feud or a large problem like warring houses. You can choose to fight for certain cities and get custom forged weapons and armor or pray to that villages particular god, whether it be mainstream or pagan, and get certain buffs or items.
We are making our music to be well themed for each country and areas of Aylus.

Lead choreographer for scripting and filling all the Non Player Characters lives as well as scripting on the side and the creation of a few dungeons.Josh also manages the spending budget for Dark Ice Studios.

We've been working on Aylus as long as we could without pay and you saw what we could do, but now we need your Help!
- Wages: The most of the funds will go to keep us focused on getting the project complete enough to release.
- Hardware: This part will go into better computers to manage all this project has to offer while also maintaining a level of quality we can track easier.
- Licences: We plan to immediately upgrade to the pro version which will give us higher graphical fidelity such as Depth of field, god rays, better shadows, and better water with features such as light diffraction and reflection, Also along with other licenses for better rendering software.
Risks and challenges
We've been working on Aylus in only my spare time competently profit free without support from anybody but ourselves even putting a few hundred dollars from our own pockets into this game.
The thing that we've been risking the most is our time that we've put into this. Even though Aylus has only been into development for a few months, the concept and planning for it has been around for a few years. We knew we wanted to make a game we just didn't know what and we didn't want to just make something cut and paste and by the books and after through years of forming it we now have something to create.
We just don't want our amount of time in this to be a waste of effort. We want to create a world to have fun in and share it to the world.
