Hollow Monsters is my attempt to move the graphic novel into new territory, by creating something ethereal, unsettling, and profound, something which could only exist via Kickstarter.
Set in the eighties, it concerns the horrors experienced in a suburban forest by a gang of kids from a nearby estate, and how what happens there echoes through the decades with disturbing effect. It's a very spooky semi-autobiographical story about the nightmares at the heart of our society.
Hollow Monsters: #2 Who Is The Hollow Man? is the second part of the story. The first part (#1 The Year We Buried Ourselves) is also available as a digital or printed comic in many of the rewards below. I made every effort to make sure the original comic fulfilled expectations and, judging from backer comments and reviews so far, it went down well. So let's continue with part 2.
These are the tiers I'd be honoured to make in return for your backing. New this time are The Badges and Box Set Tees, as well as standalone rewards like Bespoke Retro Prints and Vinyl Die Cut Stickers.

Risks and challenges
I learnt loads doing the last Kickstarter which means I now have a very realistic take on how long each stage will take, and how much it will all cost. That campaign was four times bigger than I expected which was challenging, but It taught me that this time I need to have a plan to deal with surprising levels of success right from the beginning of the project. As a person with fairly understated expectations, that took a while to adjust to.
The printer is very experienced and I've used them before to print my comics and art prints, which went very smoothly. People often comment on the high quality of their work.
All the rewards that I've offered are things I've been paid to make before. I know how long each task takes and I have all the software and art supplies ready. I've worked as a professional freelancer for a long time and never missed a contracted deadline.
I've interviewed lots of creators who have run successful Kickstarters to discover all the potential problems and factored those into my plans. I've also spoken to the post office, and had them weigh different types of reward with the relevant packaging. I'm as well prepared as I can be, and will be taking time off work to make sure everything ships on time.
I really enjoy interacting with backers personally during each stage of the project through Kickstarter, e-mail, and social media, and look forward to sharing my progress with you at every stage.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
