Naturally crafted with zinc oxide (a naturally occurring mineral), aloe, sunflower, olive and jojoba oils and infused with organic essential oils of chamomile and lavender, Lucky Bastard Co sunscreen (SPF 30) effectively provides UVA, UVB and full-spectrum sunscreen protection.
It’s water resistant for up to 80 minutes and made with non-nano zinc oxide that offers exceptional, all-natural sun protection.
While living beachside in sunny southern California, we were inspired to bring something to the market that worked on us during all of our adventures. After nearly a year of research and development with our team of chemists, we couldn’t be more stoked to offer our protection to you.
Our sunscreen is proudly created from start to finish in Los Angeles, California, USA.
While sunscreen is important for deflecting UV rays, which can cause deadly cancer, many sunscreens also cause serious problems, not only for humans, but for wildlife and the environment.
Lucky Bastard Co was founded by two brothers, originally from a small town in Minnesota, as a concept for a project during undergrad while studying art and design. The brothers began by hand-making gentleman’s lip balm in Venice, CA, for the most original, authentic, and adventurous man.
Growing up on a farm, the brothers learned a lot about living a natural, healthy, organic lifestyle. They came from a family of four boys, so as you can imagine, bones broke and wounds bled. However, their parents instilled natural-healing values and treated their battle wounds by using remedies such as arnica montana, essential oils and other natural-healing methods. They never thought in a million years that those same oils, along with many more, would later be put in a lip balm and sunscreen recipe that the boys created and mastered.
Lucky Bastard Co sources all organic ingredients, creating a premium product containing a natural SPF to withstand all of the elements.
After running a wildly successful campaign on Kickstarter (over $60,000 was raised for Lucky Bastard Co lip balm), the brothers knew they couldn’t run Lucky Bastard Co in their living room forever.
With your help, Lucky Bastard Co is hoping to raise enough money to not only bring these products to market, but equally as important, bring awareness to the serious health risks to us and to our oceans and reefs. All money that is raised on Kickstarter will bring our products to life, in turn keeping our oceans wild.
We can’t thank you enough for checking out our project and helping us make Lucky Bastard Co sunscreen a reality.
We know not everyone will be able to support us with a pledge, so even if you can’t give a dollar or purchase Lucky Bastard Co sunscreen, if you’re a supporter of Lucky Bastard Co and what we’re about, you can help us spread the word on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Instagram and anywhere else you can think of!

Risks and challenges
There are always certain risks that can arise at any moment during a project like this. That being said, we’re confident in our ability to produce, and have taken all the necessary measures. We worked out many kinks while fulfilling and delivering rewards for our previous Kickstarter campaign. We just need your help to bring everything to fruition. Don’t worry, we’re completely prepared to bring the Lucky Bastard Co sunscreen to you, and we have the manpower to make it happen, but if anything comes up along the way, you’ll be the first to know.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
