About Amelia Hedgehog
My photo series with Amelia started in 2014 in the studio of our home. I took photos of her daily life and shared them on social media. Amelia began to gain media attention online and I was encouraged by my friends to start a studio and create hedgehog art!
In 2015, I founded Amelia Hedgehog Studio and the first Amelia Hedgehog calendar was created and sold. The studio has since grown to produce creative campaigns, greeting cards, and prints. Our studio motto is: Do Small Things With Great Love. It is inspired by Amelia being small but also by me being born in Taiwan — a tiny island on the Pacific Ocean. Growing up here as an artist, I always knew there was more, and I want to work on projects that take me away from where I am, and I want to create art that is good.
One may ask: Why the name Amelia?
Amelia is named after Amelia Earhart, the fearless female pilot who set the example for women to be daring, powerful, and believing that adventure is worthwhile in itself. Amelia also draws inspiration from the French film Amélie who inspires her to find beauty in the mundane, live her life to a French soundtrack and stay true to who she is.
Amelia passed away December 12, 2017, during the making of this book. Her passing motivated me to put the book on Kickstarter and invite our community to take part in creating this book.
Amelia Hedgehog Studio is about starting small, but thinking Big, and living your days expecting the extraordinary.
I am so excited to share this book with you.
Why A Hedgehog Book
One thing I always knew about photography is that I wanted to create art that is positive, and art that would bring a smile to someone's face. My work as a photographer and social media influencer has led me to want to create a product of my own, something I know I can absolutely stand behind.
The world of Amelia Hedgehog is my world — reimagined through a hedgehog. A world that is filled with joy and creativity. So here it is — a mountain I’m moving and a project that I am really proud of. My heartfelt thanks! If you’re pledging, sharing or just passing by.

Risks and challenges
The main risk and challenges are meeting 500 orders to make my 1st production run, raise funds and time dedicated to creating, marketing, and fulfilling this project. And making a book that meets my creative standards. I will keep you updated along the way!
