As a student myself walking to and from class I began to experienced back pain. I did some research and found out lots of college students are experiencing the same problem from carrying such heavy books. What's surprising is that students as young as 11 years old are also experiencing back pain. So my team and I came up with the weight detecting system. We need help funding the the second phase of the prototype The $5500 will be used to find cost effective sensors that can be sewn into the straps, microprocessing chips, and custom magnets and buckles. We know we have a great product, but like most businesses we need help filling in the gaps to continue to move forward. Our ultimate goal once we have finalized the technology is to design our own custom, quality material backpacks. We want our backpacks to be durable yet fashionable. Help Kayewood make our backpacks a reality.
Risks and challenges
Our biggest obstacle is finding materials that are durable enough to get the job done. We believe we have done so, but we have got to test the materials to be sure. Parents buy backpacks every year and we want to make sure that our technology can withstand heavy books and normal wear and tare.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
