Keep It Together:
McSology is proud to present our stunning, thoughtfully created Bartender's Tool Roll with an aesthetically pleasing, highly functional layout. A total of 15 individual pockets are made specifically to fit each tool used in the craft. Simplify your life!
Bring Your Own Tools:
The McSology Tool Roll is a great way to pack up your tools and has plenty of room for your favorite essentials: muddler, microplane, large knife, paring knife, bar spoons, Y-peeler, lighter, Hawthorne strainer, cherry pitter, juicer, pour spouts, wine key, ice pick, business cards, bar napkin doodles, etc.
Two encased elastic loops add extra security to your strainers and a fold-over top flap prevents all of your tools from spilling out when completely rolled up. Securely cinches closed with a length of canvas webbing and two welded steel D-rings. Developed by a professional craft bartender for every bartender and bar enthusiast. Made in Seattle, Washington, USA- from concept to completion.
Clean, Convenient, Stylish:
Wouldn't it be great to have all of your bar tools ready to go? Work late, sleep in without a care, and toss your tool roll in your backpack as you rush out the door. Show up to your craft bar, dive bar, catering gig, or wedding cocktail party looking like a tidy, and stylish badass. Haphazardly tossing all of your things in that grimy back-pack? That's bush league!
The McSology Bartender's Tool Roll begs to accompany you whilst bouncing between your three different bartending gigs across town! Unfurl the tool roll with confidence at your next cocktail competition, and your vest-clad opponents will be stunned into submission! Impress your customers AND your bar manager with your attention to cleanliness and detail.

How We Made It Happen:
Mike has nearly a decade of bartending experience: craft bars, competitions, cocktail weeks, and consulting. A frequent traveler, he has experience with virtually all tools of the trade-- and knows what people in the industry need. As a fashion designer, Malia is an experienced pattern maker, and has a vast knowledge of textiles and industrial sewing practices.
We created and tested our very first prototype tool roll in 2010. After some minor tweaks, we began selling them through etsy.com. Each tool roll was painstakingly made to order by Malia in her home studio. One roll would take a full day of work to make. In this manner, we have sold dozens of tool rolls to bartenders in North America, Europe, and Australia. The feedback we received has allowed us to field a product that is ready for full-scale production.
As the demand for our Bartender's Tool Roll increases, the production load has become very difficult to maintain. The two of us would like to spend more time developing new products. We have so many concepts that we are eager to share with the bartending community!
We scoured the west coast and found a production facility in Seattle that is capable of producing the Bartender's Tool Rolls that meet our high quality standards, at a reasonable cost. As with any factory, the minimum quantity to order is high, and we hope to cover a good portion of the costs with your support through Kickstarter.
A large sum of the money will go to the people who make our tool rolls. The remainder will go towards fabric and hardware, shipping, packaging, and printing. Any money that we raise beyond our goal will go toward covering the total cost of production.
McSology Lewis Bags- A Pleasure to Pound!
In 2008, over some Bookers, we designed a serious Lewis Bag for use in high-volume bars. We have literally made and sold hundreds of these bags, and we recently sent over 1,000 of them to production in Chicago for a UK-based client. McSology Lewis Bags are one tantalizing option available in the rewards section to the right.
Risks and challenges
We are both experienced in seeing our products through the entire production process- from concept to testing, and communicating with the fabric vendors in California and factory managers in Chicago. Earlier this year, McSology completed an order of 1,000 Lewis Bags. We experienced two challenges- fulfillment of materials and factory lead times.
Fulfillment of Materials- Unforeseen disruption in the supply chain. Certain fabrics may become unavailable, or may take longer to acquire.
Resolution- We have developed a relationship with more than one fabric vendor. If a fabric becomes unavailable, we can turn to other sources.
Factory Lead Times- The factory may not be able to complete the order within the time originally quoted.
Resolution- With this in mind, we have added an additional 6 weeks to the quote we have received by the factory. We have partnered with a local Seattle production facility in our own community, so that we can physically check in with them on a regular basis.
The final risk involves shipping. McSology uses the United States Postal Service to ship and deliver all orders. We haven't had a bad experience or lost shipment yet. Let's hope it stays that way!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
