We have prototyped and tested a new solution on the glasses' sidepieces that allows to improve the solidity and intends to ensure a perfect closure of the temples.
Visio spectacles are thought to be weared by anyone, we hope that our product can allow people to look at their life with different eyes, because everyone is a hero in a special way. We aim to take care about our customers, because it's not just a fashion issue, but it's all about people.
What if you had to wear the same exact shirt every day? Pretty boring right! So why do we continue to wear the same styles when it comes to our eyewear?
Our answer is Visio spectacles. Visio is handcrafted, luxury eyewear designed in the heart of Italy. Made from sustainably sourced multilayered wood and aluminum, every one of our frames are high-performance … without all the environment damaging materials other manufactures typically use. But we didn't stop there. With our universal lens mounting system, you can swap out lenses (prescription or sun) on the fly and pull off a different look in seconds. Plus we’ve built-in adjustable aluminum temple tips (a first for wooden frames) to give every wearer all day comfort.

ABOUT WOLF SPECTACLES
The will to communicate a new point of view urged us to imagine and design an object that could be the natural extension of our eyes. A product featuring an artisanal soul and a technological frame. Spectacles conceived to last for a lifetime.
Researches in the eyewear market have highlighted a gap between wooden eyewear and ordinary plastic / metal glasses. The first, difficult to produce, are made of sustainable materials that favour the aesthetics and the materiality, yet penalizing the functionality and the resistance of the product. The others, on the contrary, to be produced on a vast scale, use artificial materials in order to ensure greater performance and comfort. Our goal was to create an excellent product with the best features of both sectors: a universal pair of glasses with high performances, but also made with materials and techniques that enhance the typical Made in Italy quality.
The multilayer is composed by aluminum sheets, which give strength and elasticity, and wood sheets, which give lightness, warmth and a pleasant tactile sensation on the face. A common problem of wooden glasses is that they cannot be adjusted, resulting uncomfortable particularly on the ears. The aluminium temple tip has the chance to be adjusted to dress perfectly behind the ear and to adapt to different shapes of the faces. This feature, together with the design of the nosepads guarantees a perfect weight balance, making the glasses comfortable even after hours and days of use. All components are assembled without glues and that's why they are all removable and interchangeable. The finishing process gives brightness and smoothness to wood, making the spectacles water-resistant.
The design effort has given life to a collection of eight frames, all of which can be used with prescription or sun lenses. The collection results in the use of precious and natural materials and a Made in Italy design. Each element of the collection is hand crafted with techniques and tools typical of the best workshops. Each model is available in different types of wood, each with absolutely unique and unrepeatable veinings.

KICKSTARTER EXCLUSIVE EDITION
The feature that makes our products unique is the ability to customize the inside layer of the spectacles with "multicolor" wood essence: exclusive textures in different shades of color that we have chosen specifically for Kickstarter.
Different shades of color of the "multicolor" wood are extracted from a single sheet. This mean that every pair of spectacles will be unique, since each of them is obtained from a different place of the sheet. For this reason the choice of the textures cannot be decided by the customer, but it is random within the colour range that we decided to match to the wood veneers of the spectacles.
Visio spectacles have a universal system for the assembly of the lenses, that allows to mount them without any problem both prescription and sun lenses as in any acetate spectacles. The spectacles are provided of a pair of sun lenses for which you can choose the color (black or blue). We can't provide corrective lenses since they require a prescription by your optician who will easily mount them on your frame.
The packaging shape reminds the "gable top" packaging patented by Dr. Rubern Raussing, which revolutionized the milk storage process due to the matching of two materials: paper and aluminium. That made us think about our choice of materials, our "sandwich" made of wood and aluminum and the same principles of environmental sustainability.

KICKSTARTER PRICE vs RETAIL PRICE
The eyewear market normally involves additional costs and mark-ups charged by distributors, transporters and traders on the final price of the product. Instead, selling them directly on Kickstarter we give the possibility to our backers to be the first to receive the product, jumping all these distribution phases.
In order to establish a direct relationship with our customers and to pursuit a constructive debate on current issues, we decided to include for free a copy of "1500 Hz" along with the product.
"1500 Hz: the highest vocal range" is a publication on youth culture on a quarterly basis. It's our way to give voice to a frequently criticized generation. Tomatis, the most expert in audio-psycho-phonology said that the high frequencies are often therapeutic and that a good voice reflects a good ear. Our issue wants to be a cultural manifesto. It wants to be a good voice. In an on-going dialogue between our view and that of readers we try to create a place of sharing and debate, where the thought of young people enables the openness to issues sometimes kept under wraps, sometimes shouted by a culture that needs to show its values.
Our story is about courage in pursuing our dreams, about young people with the will to make and create, each with distinct abilities that made a perfect synergy rise. The passion for our job, our curiosity and the will to deal with new experiences urged us, in the last two years, to develop our project with constant effort and devotion.. From the research on materials, shapes, technical features and the taking of awareness of social and environmental contexts in which we operate, our has been an incessant learning process in the sector and beyond. Now we feel ready to show the result of our cultural and professional growth through our product, ensured to have kept the promise that we made first of all to ourselves and that we turn to our customers: the guarantee of a product with excellent quality and typically Italian. Precisely for this reason we have researched and explored for a long time the best Italian companies in the sector, especially in the north of the peninsula, and in particular in the manufacturing district of Belluno: the homeland of wine and Made in Italy spectacles. In this area the arts and traditional crafts blend with the latest technology and avant-garde, creating a district that has always been a world leader in the production of optical articles.
Risks and challenges
Here are the most relevant tasks that shall be carried out using the funds raised on Kickstarter. We don't see any risk in them, they are normal steps for the production of the glasses.
1) CE (European) certification of the spectacles. The certification will be carried out by an Italian notified institute that we have already chosen. We know exactly the time and the money that will be necessary for the certification to be obtained.
2) FDA (Food and Drug Administration in the USA) certification of the spectacles. The certification will be carried out by a US company that we have already chosen. The company has an Italian branch. We know exactly the time and the money that will be necessary for the certification to be obtained.
3) production of the spectacles. We know very well all our suppliers since we’ve been working with them for more than 2 years.
