This is a project I've been looking forward to doing for a long time, and have just been waiting for the right time. with 2017 being the 150th anniversary of Canada's confederation... it feels like the right time!
We have already started development of the cookbook - planning out what recipes we'd like to have in there (still taking suggestions though!) , etc.
We've recently been shooting / reshooting some of my tried-and-true recipes, that we've either never photographed, or just haven't photographed in a way suitable for the book.
As an example, this weekend I made a batch of my ridiculous Maple Walnut ice cream. Very rich and creamy, all of the sweetness in this comes from maple syrup - there is no supplementary sugar. It's a luxurious ice cream, unlike anything you can buy!
I'm aiming to get a few more of my traditional-type recipes photographed in the next few weeks, before taking a quick trip home to pick up some source material. We have a long list of beloved sauces, snack foods, chocolate bars, etc that I will be developing replica recipes for.
Now ... I just wonder how much Chalet Sauce they'll let me buy for take out. Hmmm.. :)
