      Hi Marie,
Looks like I stopped getting KS updates at post #20, so I never was able to get my ebook copy. I did get my hardcover copy though!

Is there any way to be able to still get the ebook version?

    3. Marie Porter 6-time creator on

Lynn, can you log into your Kickstarter account and look for wherever it lets you know about surveys you need to do?

Books have been mailed to all of the qualifying backers who did the surveys, and none have been returned as undeliverable, so I'm assuming you haven't answered yours yet?

I've backed your great project, but it seems I've (by far) missed update #21 for the ebook download (see below).
Is there another way to download the ebook?

I've looked through the options, and it looks like honour system is the best route here, so .. here goes!

Click here to go to the ebook distributor page, and select your desired format. Enter the download code "KickStarter" (case sensitive), and it will allow you a free download.

I didn't get the PDF via your time-sensitive update. Haven't heard back from the email I sent... let me know how I can get a copy. Thanks!

NoBigDiel: Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, was out of town.

The company that did the ebook conversions converted one file, then used that to convert to the other types, so I would assume they'd all be the same. Ugh, sucks to hear the second column is missing from some.

The very back of the book has a conversion table, though.

      No reply? Ok then.
I'll try downloading one of the other formats instead, hopefully they're not all defect.

I downloaded the book in epub format and noticed that a few of the recipes are missing the second column (ml) of ingredient measurements. Are other digital formats and the printed book the same?

I received my book here in Canada this week. The recipes look fabulous and I love the personal tips and comments throughout. This is one of the best KS experiences I've had from the timing and communication to the stellar product. Great job Marie!

Yay! Got my books today and am making my shopping list! One niece has Celiac's disease, she is going to pick out a couple and we are going to make them. My other niece loves to make desserts - cupcakes! and we are looking at the Evil Overlords book to pick out our first one to try! Just glanced through it so far, I really like the personal comments you put with the recipes. Makes me feel kind of like we met somewhere and started talking recipes :oD. I'll leave a review on Amazon after we try a few - THANK YOU!

Thank you so much for the kind words, Andrew and Rasmus! I'm so happy to hear that people are enjoying the book!

I have received my copy in Denmark today+postcard. Kind of empresses, ) wasn´t expecting it for at least 2 weeks:) The postmen has been a little rought on my copy, but nothing major, aside from some lightly ripped pages. Still very readable!

I haven't had time to dig to deep into the book yet, but what I have already seen is awesome. The quality of the production is top nots, and I really like the writing of Marie Porter, can't wait to try out something from the book (And show it off to people).

Thanks to Marie Porter for making such a well run kickstarter, and give us the opportunity to back this cool book. Good Luck on future projects!

BTW This marks only the 3rd kickstarter I have received on time:) That is a kind of exclusive club...

Several projects? 8 is not a large amount.

Harassing? Since when posting 9 questions and comments in more than 7 months is harassment?

      Now I'm gone

    19. Marie-Andree Poisson

      Just wow!

    20. Michelle Redding on

Marie-Andree: I may not be an old timer, but I've backed several projects. I personally have a large amount of backing on this project and am disturbed by what I see. I see a creator who publicized and stuck to her update schedule and a backer who is harassing her for no reason.

On behalf of the hundreds of other backers whose silence I take to be OK with the update schedule, please stop. I am concerned that you're hurting the creative process of the product that we all backed and are excited about.

    21. Marie Porter 6-time creator on

Marie-Andree, there are plenty of "KS old timers" who have contributed to this project, who do not feel the need to pester me 3 weeks before a scheduled (and announced!) update, to "remind" me repeatedly, every month, or to take their reminders off KS,and make posts on my Facebook page. Yes, that is out of hand. Me feeling harassed - and honestly kind of creeped out, at this point - whenever I see your name come up as a notification is a clear indicator that it is out of hand. You are literally the only person who has been doing this. You are negatively affecting my ability to write, at this point. I don't know how much clearer I need to be. Please stop.

    22. Marie-Andree Poisson

      Out of hand?

    23. Marie-Andree Poisson

Again, many old timers on KS like me like to see a project unfold before our eyes. Others want only the goods.

    24. Michelle Redding on

To my knowledge ks guidelines state that they should provide updates, not how often they have to. Personally I'd prefer to not be overwhelmed with updates whenever a project I backed finishes some minor step.

My understanding was that the next update would be in exactly 2 months from the last one on 5/14. So posting reminders for updates on any date before 7/14 is overstepping our boundaries as backers. I'd rather the creators spend their time working on the projects, not fielding questions from impatient backers.

    25. Marie Porter 6-time creator on

Marie-Andree, I mentioned Facebook, because it was there that I told you that you were making me uncomfortable with the repeated aggressive requests for updates. (In response to you taking the reminders THERE, as well as here)

Last update, I specifically mentioned the date of the next one, and you started posting your comments about updates - like I was late - exactly 3 weeks BEFORE that date. That's getting out of hand, and I feel like it's making the comments section here a really negative thing.

I really don't need to be "remembered" to communicate with the backers. Being a couple days more than a month (before I started giving actual dates) doesn't violate the KS guidelines at all... and all the negativity from you really does is make me not want to be anywhere near my computer. That's counterproductive, wouldn't you agree?

    26. Marie-Andree Poisson

I haven't been on your Facebook page for weeks, if not months, so calm down. The only thing I did here was remembering you of communicating with your backers, which is in KS guidelines. Lots of creators don't do it and must be remembered to do so (koddos for having a calendar). One comment a month from my part is not exactly nagging or harrasment. I will now let you alone with your book and wait for it like a good and docile backer who just want the goods, and not see the process involved.

    27. Marie Porter 6-time creator on

Marie-Andree, I had it on the calendar to post an update today. Came here and saw your posts.

I appreciate that you're excited for the project, but please- I have updates on the calendar now. I'm really uncomfortable with the constant (as in, pretty much every month) posts from you here and on my Facebook page, usually before I'm even "late".

The book is coming along, it will be on time. I just really hate coming to make an update, and then ending up feeling nagged / "guilty" for not posting them frequently enough for you. It's definitely a mood killer. :/

    28. Marie-Andree Poisson

      I suppose.

    29. Allen Campbell on

Her last update said she would post another update about the middle of July, because "still writing recipes" wasn't much of an update. I am betting we will get another update in the next couple of weeks.

Having lots of difficulty finding gluten free flat bred, pita, or tortilla that have a good texture, are thin, and don't crack all over the place. Will you include something good in your book?

I'll do my best to keep it in mind as I'm developing the book, but a lot will depend on being able to do so in a way that doesn't come off as cluttered.

If there's anything you ever has a question about substitutions for, though - book OR blog! - feel free to email me!
