My name is Nick Rendall, the writer and illustrator of all of 'A Book's 40 page content. I have composed all the poems and quotes over the last few years and spent the last 8 months writing them out and illustrating the remaining space on the pages. Writing them by hand and illustrating the most powerful metaphors in each poem gives you the reader a stronger connection to the piece and really allows me to share what I was feeling when I created that piece.
I have now finished and scanned all the original template pages and just need your support to help me self-publish 'A Book'
Here is the first poem, Glimpses, to give you a taste. You'll have to get the book to see the accompanying illustrations.
Come with me,
there is something
That I wish you to see
Glimpses through keyholes
in wrought iron facades.
Flittering silhouettes of begotten dreams hiding
behind shattered mirrors to the soul
that bare not the look of a path well walked
I see through your eyes
I see shoulda coulda woulda’s
starring back at me
plaguing your fragile contemplations
with irrevocable regret
but dwell on them you must not
for feeding this beast only empowers it.
Come with me,
this you must see.
A vision not clouded by distasteful influences
taking advantage and seeding themselves
upon unwitting minds
that if were truly conscious
would reject such obnoxious profanities
but herein lies their most treacherous slyness,
the misguided judgement that they
are of any genuine or ingenuine value,
but merely remain as materialistic husks
that stand for less than
the shadows that they cast.
Don’t you wish to see
the true nature of what
it is that surrounds you
the contorted blank canvas
that acts as the puppeteers strings.
Cut yourself free from them,
vanquish indecision and deceit
and gaze upon a world set free
come with me,
and this you will see
Risks and challenges
There are no forseeable risks and challenges that come with the completion of my project. I have already taken into account any potential delays in printing and have given myself ample time to deal with any issue so that I can meet my February deadlineLearn about accountability on Kickstarter
