Thanks for taking the time to check out my campaign to produce my first jazz chamber ensemble CD called "Thoughts on God" Project of Hope. We are in some very turbulent times and many people are suffering. With this project I am hoping to inspire people, to help them heal some on a daily basis, to make them feel good about the future and to think about all that they have been given that is wonderful.
When I first started composing the "Thoughts on God" pieces in 1984, it initially came from a myriad of thoughts I have that related to the creator. I knew even then that this was a very different kind of composing for me and it was coming from a deep place. I was feeling God's presence while I wrote and I was allowing music to flow through me that I did not totally understand. There are things in this music that are very different from anythng else I have ever composed or produced. I consider this musical suite spiritual not religious. It is joyous and has feelings of wonderment and seeking in it. This suite of music is a gift given to me that must be shared and I believe it has the power to affect the human condition in a positive way.
I have been working as an independent musician for almost 30 years. I have financed and produced my last five CD's on my own label. But because "Thoughts on God" Project of Hope is arranged for a large ensemble, I knew the recording of this suite in totality would be a vast financial undertaking which I could not do on my own. With the music business being the way it is for independent artists, I knew it would be very difficult to get it financed. Then I was introduced to Kickstarter and when I saw other musicians getting their projects financed through this great vehicle, a light bulb went off in my head that said "now is the time for Thoughts on God" and I felt compelled to get this music presented at this time.
When you donate, you will forever be a part of this wonderfully positive and exciting project. This music is multifaceted and powerful. I stand by all my past and present music projects, but I can say that "Thoughts on God" is very dear to my heart. It has taken me a quarter of a century to finish and be ready to release this music. It's the Project of Hope and I need you to make it happen. Donations will be used for rehearsals, recording, mixing, mastering, paying the musicians and pressing. Any extra will go to advertising and promoting. At the heart of all of my music is my personal desire to make people think and feel deeply. I want to give hope, encourage and inspire with a message that I believe people will feel with each note. We all have thoughts on God, now you can have a soundtrack to go with them. Join me by supporting this inspirational journey and receive some great rewards.
