Chestnut (by enveo) is a minimalistic smartwatch dock for your nightstand or desk. Our smartwatches need a safe and reliable home to recharge, while we are recharging ourselves – that’s why we designed the Chestnut. An incredible easy to use dock, which is currently compatible with both the Apple Watch and the Pebble Time smartwatches.
We have designed an unique interchangeable silicone ring, which allows the Chestnut to be compatible with even more brands in the future - so the functionality of the dock will become even greater. That is why you do not have to panic if you buy a new smartwatch, just change the silicone ring, and you are good to go.

Functionality at its best
Perfectly angled for Nightstand mode. The Chestnut dock is angled in a 45 degree angel ensuring full functionality, while your smartwatch is charging and furthermore enables the Apple Watch Nightstand mode. You can see the entire screen – making it a great friend if you are an app-developer, updating it or just playing with it.
Future proof. Currently the Chestnut is compatible with Pebble Time, Pebble Steel and the 38 and 42mm Apple Watch. But due to the unique interchangeable silicon ring, the Chestnut dock will be able to accommodate more brands in the future, so you dont have to despair if you change your smartwatch brand.
Fits many strap designs. Chestnut is compatible with a broad array of strap designs. We have spent numerous days figuring out a perfect shape, size and design, to accommodate the diversity of smartwatches and making a truly innovative and functional product.
- The Chestnut dock is compatible with the following Apple Watch straps; Modern Buckle, Leather Loop, Milanese Loop, Classic Buckle, Sports Band.
- The Chestnut dock is compatible with the Pebble Time and Pebble Steel leather and stainless steel strap.
Hides the cord. Everybody hates clutter, that's why we've integrated a cordwell in the Chestnut dock, where surplus cord safely can be tucked away. This ensures a tidy and clean working space and fumble free sleeping environment.
Size and measurements. The Chestnut dock is small, but a feisty fellow. It measures only slightly more than a matchstick box. It won't attract to much attention, aside from its beautiful curvy design. The Chestnut weighs approximately 800 grams, its not fat, just big boned. The weight is due to the huge amount of love we invested and yeah of course sandcasted iron, which ensures you the dock stays put, when charging your smartwatch. Don't worry about scratching your table, we've put small rubber feet on the Chestnut making it a scratch-free dock.
The story of the name. As you may have figured, the Chestnut dock design is inspired by nature, more specific Chestnuts. Chestnuts are small, curvy, warm and can be used for many playful settings. It were in these values we sought to have as the foundation of the design.
Scandinavian design. We wanted a simple approach to the design with a curvy expression and shape, which had an organic and warm feeling, that could clash with the more "cold" expression of smartwatches. We see at as a combination of two worlds, the industrial world and nature.
Design philosophy. We focused on three essential principles when designing the Chestnut dock.
- The functionality. We believe that functionality is essential in design, where versatility is a key factor that increases the lifetime of the product. We wanted a product which can accommodate multiple brands, we think we nailed it.
- The aesthetics. We believe design should be honest, soft and natural. We use feminine wood types and merging it with more heavy masculine materials creating a harmonious and stylish balance.
- The sustainability. We have a responsibility and we strive to apply the most sustainable material available, in relation to the expression of the design.
Materials and production methods
Sustainable materials. We strive to use the most sustainable materials as possible. The wooden top is FSC certified ensuring the wood is planted, harvested and replanted in a sustainable system and the metal applied is re-usable.
Wood. Wood is a living and unique material, meaning each Chestnut will have a unique set of grains. The woodtype used for the Chestnut is oak, which is known for its distinctive patterns and its strong and hard surface.
The Chestnuts packaging will be minimalistic in its design and function. The packaging will be designed to take into account that some of the docks will travel long distances. The packaging will be sturdy and neat at the same time, ensuring a safe arrival.
Timeline for the project
We will make a survey asking which charging adapter you want.
Thank you. If you love our Chestnut dock, we would appreciate if you would share our statement with any friends that like quality made products with a conscience.
Risks and challenges
We have invested countless hours, our heart and soul in designing, testing, optimizing and refining the Chestnuts design, to create a dock, which is in in accordance with our personal core values and upholds the quality we strive to achieve. The Chestnut dock shown in the photos and our video is functional and it even looks great. We only need to make some minor adjustments to reach the finish line.
The finish line is so close. We have partnered with a manufacturer who can meet our production criteria in terms of quality and time of delivery of the Chestnut docks. We believe we have reduced the risks as much as humanly possible, but even through extensive preparation, delays and errors can occur.
We are confident that we can handle any unexpected issue that could occur along the way, due to our experience and our close partnerships with our manufacturer and external designers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
