Grassroots California (GRC) has always called Chicago a second home. Our roots run deep within the city. President Robaire Kelter helped raise GRC from his home in Chicago before migrating to Colorado with the rest of the company. Summer Camp, Illinois' premiere music festival for the past 15 years, was also the first music festival we ever vended! Our passion for the music industry in general was truly formed by this magical city/state.
This year, we are extremely excited to be announcing the opening of a new, official GRC storefront in downtown Chicago. We are excited to bring Grassroots California to Chicago, but we could use some help during the process.
2015 was a year full of obstacles for Grassroots California. We were evicted unlawfully from our flagship storefront in Denver and have been unable to reopen because of permitting issues. Our event, The 710 Cup, was cancelled by the city as well. To top it all off, our bank closed its accounts with us because of our affiliation with the marijuana community.
The new storefront will be located at 515 N Halsted. Our plan is to renovate the space with brand new electrical, floors, walls, and everything else to make your shopping experience more inspiring. To show our appreciation for your contribution to the movement, we have designed a plethora of exclusive, limited edition items just for the supporters of this Kickstarter Campaign. Items include: Chicago-themed hats, pins, blankets, stickers and much more that will be shipping out this summer. Contributors of $5, or more, will not only be receiving amazing gear, but gain a sense of pride in knowing you were an integral player in helping GRC set up shop in Chicago. We cannot do this without your help. Thanks again for all of your support!
