Forever Flask™ – The only vacuum flask you will ever need.

Forever Flask™ is a unique vacuum flask, thermal mug and food container system made from 316 stainless steel that’s built to last literally forever.
It is simple yet versatile, strong and built to keep beverages and food cool or hot, and without taste from the previous content permeating into the next – no odour transfer guaranteed.
It has ZERO plastic — for health, taste and durability reasons.
It has no gimmicks, electronics or redundant features and just does what it says really well.
Measurements:
Forever Flask™ is made entirely of 316 Surgical Steel.
We emphatically believe your hot drink or food should not touch plastic (even BPA free) in a vacuum bottle, given the "...potential health risk posed by most currently available plastic products that leach chemicals having EA into food products..." (source: National Institute of Health)
Because it is made from steel, without any plastic or moving parts, Forever Flask™ is built to last – literally forever.
We are so confident of this, we are giving you a lifetime warranty with it (see 'Comments') .
Most importantly, all four components are double wall, vacuum sealed including the cap of the flask and lid for the mug - to significantly reduce heat loss and transfer.
Forever Flask increases the time the liquid or food is kept at its intended and desired temperature in comparison to other flasks that are not entirely insulated — the screw-in lids never are. Heat or cold is rapidly lost through this “weakest link”.
Our flask and its mug are DOUBLE WALL and vacuum insulated, providing significantly extended temperature retention.

Development History
We have been through key phases now and ready to kickstart Forever Flask™.
Market research and competitors analysis We spent months looking at various vacuum flasks and metal bottles that are out there, buying and testing - and breaking them - finding a pattern and what the key areas that need to be improved upon are.
Focus groups and user feedback
We had many sessions with frequent vacuum flask and metal bottle users to understand their needs, their frustrations and what their ideal flask might look like.
Paper design We then went through countless designs of the flask on paper, reviewing and perfecting the concepts, discussing them with people – end users as well as factory engineers – and revising the designs further.
Clay shape testing
We did some simple and cheap prototyping to check the shape, how it fits in the hand, if it's too thick, too narrow, too tall and so on, further tweaking the design.
CAD and CAM modelling Once we were happy with the designs, we went to an engineering company to make a CAD model that we could use for making 3D printed prototypes and get factories to quote for. We discussed the model with a number of factories and tweaked the design further during these early stages.
Prototyping We made several costly high-end prototypes to be sure we had the design nailed. There were 3 prototypes in total, the first not yet containing the bottom dry stash and lid for the mug, which were included in from the 2nd version onwards.
User testing of prototypes We got users to touch and hold the flask, pour liquids in and out of, drink from its mouth, from the mug and gathered feedback to make sure everybody was happy with the results. Some minor tweaks and ideas came out of this, for example the velcro handle!
Factory RFP process and quotes Once the designs were final with no further issues or ideas coming in, we went to 13 factories in China to get a quote on the production and finally agreed a partnership with just one – with years of experience in the field. Some critical details such as the vacuum sealed screw in lid (due to its small size) got many stumped!
Logistics planning and supplier sourcing
The final step was to work out the logistics of getting the container with the produced flasks from China to the UK and then out to the backers. We've seen many campaigns miss their deadlines by many months due to shipping issues, so we wanted to make sure we were not one of them!
We sourced a reputable container transporter that’s been in the business for 50+ years and a full service picker/shipper, who will make sure your Forever Flask™ is with you as quickly as possible and as per our meticulously planned schedule!!
Cost break down
Closest similar stainless steel vacuum insulated bottles – an that's without a vacuum insulated lid, without a large thermal vacuum insulated mug or bottom lid – are sold for around $70.
This makes Forever Flask at $55 a steal!
We can afford to sell it for this amount due to no middle men, no stores needing to take a cut, low packaging and minimal marketing costs. Other manufacturers and brands would not be able to make a similar product for the same price due to the aforementioned additional costs – which would make their product cost around $120 – not a price point most vacuum flask users would be prepared to pay!
More than two-third of the cost are for material and actual production.
Moulds
We need to make eight of them, two halves for each part: the lid, the flask, the cap and the mug. Each mould costs a lot to make so a large portion of budget will be spent on tooling and setup before production can start.
Production There are the material (316 steel) and manufacturing costs to actually mould each piece of metal into the required shape, which will take another big chunk of overall budget.
Finishing and vacuuming
Once the metal sheets are pressed into shape they need to be welded, polished for a smooth finish and then air needs to be sucked out of the cavity between the two walls to make the parts vacuumed – for superior thermal isolation..
Packaging The packaging is so minimal, we agreed with the factory to put the flasks into a box free of charge! Better for the environment, no costs to you – everyone’s a winner!
Shipping and import
Once the flasks are made and packed, we will need to container ship them from China to our forwarding agent in the UK and pay custom import fees, then transport
Timeline
Once funding succeeds we plan to get the Forever Flask™ delivered to your front door before Christmas!
Heat and cold retention
We have recently completed pre production test samples testing and calculations and thanks to some design and material (don't worry - still no plastic!) tweaks, we're very happy with the results!
Partners
Thanks to our partners Climbskin and GOBAG for their advice and support.
Risques et défis
We've picked a large, reputable factory in China, which has been manufacturing vacuum flasks for a very long time and has made these for some large brands. We're confident they will deliver an excellent product. If any issues, we do have a secondary factory to go to.
The container shipping company has been in business for 50+ years so we're sure they know what they're doing. Everything is insured, so worst case is flasks have to be re-made and we just hit delays. We're talking force majeur on this one - e.g. a huge storm and the ship sinking, pirate hijacking etc.
Shipping and import may hit delays as customs can hold a container for inspection. Worst case we will lose a month on this, no more plus some additional costs to project. Either way the only risk is delay - not failure to deliver.
