We - Astrid, Charlotte, and Laurence - are trying to raise $7,000 to make our exhibition “Read, Look! We promise it’s not dangerous…” happen in New York.
It is an innovative group show displaying well-known artists from America and France. For every artist, a book and a unique crafted work of art will be showcased. Two French artists will even perform for the first time in the U.S. during the opening reception.
Through this exhibition, we raise a question: what is the
nature of the engagement embodied in the action of writing?
The show is going to be held in an historic venue: the Emily Harvey Foundation located in Soho. The history of this place is linked to the international artistic movement Fluxus, whose goal was to blur the border between art and life between 1960 and 1970.
George Maciunas , one of the major member of the movement, founded the place in 1975 and even organized his wedding!
