About this project
Vist the official DumbSmart Clothing Company website !!!
Last year I was a sophomore in college and had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I was extremely interested in entrepreneurship and even participated in a summer program with the White Plains Youth Bureau years prior in which I was taught and granted time to map out and pitch my very own business plan. Back then I was very interested in sneaker customization with acrylic paints. So far I didn't have the grades to get into the business school at my university and I had absolutely no back up plan. As a child I wanted to be a basketball star (like everyone else), but if course that also fell through. One day in journalism class I found myself unconsciously sketching pictures of t shirts, varsity jackets, and pants. Art was a hobby from childhood that I had given up due to lack of inspiration and confidence in my abilities. It was somewhat "heaven-sent" that art reappeared in my life at this point because I was completely lost in what I was going to do about my future. I took those sketches and expanded on them. I also began sketching out different designs that would pop into my head on a daily basis and I would show them to my friends. They weren't the most supportive bunch if friends but they expressed their liking of the originality of the name and designs. From there I continued sketching and eventually ended up with a logo, from then DumbSmart Clothing Company was officially born. As a college student I work off influences around me. I research different clothing lines and what poeple within my market like to wear. I constantly communicate with my audience face to face and through social media to find out exactly what they want in a clothing line. Though I go off of what others may find essential and appealing in a clothing line, I primarily go off of ideas that come to my head on a daily basis. I like to think of myself as a very deep thinker and my mind constantly races about different designs and avenues I can use to shake up the fashion industry and bring it to a place it hasn't been. The name of my business itself promotes mental stimulation with its oxymoronic title. I test boundaries of my market's psyche by putting such words as "dumb" on a shirt. Im inspired by the popularity of ignornce in pop culture today and I like to push the envelope as far as i possibly can, and see what the boundaries of my market are or if they even care about the meaning behind different words and phrases that they are wearing. Amongst all of this I try my hardest to keep prices as affordable as I possibly can for certain pieces. Currently I sell my first couple of t shirt designs for $15 and backpacks for $25.

Risks and challenges
My greatest challenge to date would be not getting enough backers to fund this dream. Without backers, it will become impossible for DumbSmart Clothing Company to build and expand past the beginning stages it's currently at.
If I do get a large enough backing my main challenges will consist of prepping files to be sent to manufacturer, receiving pieces in a timely manner at its best possible quality, and finally prepping them to be shipped out to customers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
