I have recorded two albums: Fear Not (1999) was about the end of the world; The Broomfield Variations (2003) was about 70 minutes long. They were about as successful as any album distributed from the artist's hand (and mostly for free) can be. The fans I had, however, were (and remain) devoted, loyal, and vocal about their desire for more music. Unfortunately my gear broke down over time and my priorities shifted away from music.
But 2010 is the start of a new decade, my friends. My wife Bridget is teaching English at a boarding school in Sedona, AZ. Room and board is provided for both of us by the school. All of the sudden, I've got the free time I've always wanted.
I'm using Kickstarter to help fund the purchase of some new gear. A local store (The MIDI Store) is giving me great prices on some equipment:
• Reason 5 / Record 1.5 -- amazing software (teacher version: $300)
• M-Audio FastTrack Pro -- an analog-to-digital interface ($150)
• M-Audio Oxyen 49 -- small MIDI keyboard ($150)
• cords, adapters, power strips, headphones and other incidentals ($150)
Please give what you can so that I can start making that beautiful music again!
VERY IMPORTANT: If you can't afford to give me any money, do not worry! I still love you. For you, this is just an announcement of awesome things to come.
