**We made our first goal! Now we're on to the Stretch Goals!**
Kate is a nerd and small business owner in charge of the local roller rink. However, she's tired of being single, and strikes out to find Mr. Right. She find him in Adam, a devilishly handsome OB/GYN who is also a trans man.
The story follows their budding romance and the malarkey they embark on with their cast of outrageous friends.
Kia (the writer) and I are making this comic because we both feel there aren't enough stories featuring trans men. The story we're making won't focus on his transition - by the time the story starts he's been living as a man for several years. Instead the story will be more about the characters and some of the challenges and absurdities they face.
We attempted to KickStart this project back in November 2014, but we learned that we set the goal too high and the rewards we offered weren't really what the audience wanted. So we lowered our goal to just raising $600, and now our rewards are entirely digital - no shipping required! Plus, you can get rewards like custom artwork made by me (the artist) and inclusion into the comic, as background characters or (in the highest reward) as a recurring character!
If you help us fund this project, you'll help cover the production of the first 15 pages of this webcomic, including the cost of art supplies, plus a $50 stipend to the writer, Kia.
You may be asking, "But who will host your webcomic?" Well we already have a host lined up: Pink Dollar Comics has agreed to help us out by hosting Seeing Him on their website! But this will only happen if this KickStarter gets funded. Otherwise you won't be Seeing Him at Pink Dollar Comics. (...get it?)
((UNLOCKED!)) AT $650 Kia will get a $100 stipend for all her hard work writing this comic. <3
((UNLOCKED!)) AT $750 we can make 20 pages of comics!
AT $900 we can make the ENTIRE first chapter of 24 pages AND give Kia a $150 stipend!
Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge will be meeting deadlines for making and updating the comics and the commission rewards. But considering I have been making three webcomics for two years (and one webcomic will have season 1 end by the 11th of April), I'm capable and confident I can meet these deadlines.
However, I AM going to allow a buffer of five to six months on the commission rewards, just in case you decide to swamp me with requests.
There are no shipping costs because all the rewards will be digital. No worries there!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
