About this project
*UPDATE: WE HAVE REACHED OUR INITIAL GOAL AND THE FIRST TWO STRETCH GOALS! WE ARE NOW ONTO THE THIRD STRETCH GOAL!*
Johnson & Sir are two elf cops in the town of Fantasyville who barely get along. It's their job to keep the peace between rogue mustaches, dinosaurs, Haiku poets, and each other.
The story of these two elves began as a webcomic that updated for two years and 100 pages.
But the story is not yet complete!
I'm Kelci, the writer and artist of Johnson & Sir, and my goal with this KickStarter campaign is to raise funds for the printing of the book Johnson & Sir: The Collected Comics.
What will the book have that the webcomic doesn't? Well it'll have...
- Remastered pages,
- Character biographies revealing all of their secrets (including Sir's first name and Johnson's previous job before he joined the force),
- Never-before-seen sketches of the comic being developed,
- And all the laughs you expect from the police force of Fantasyville!
This KickStarter is happening to fund the printing and shipping of twenty copies of this 120-page book.
If you help make this book happen, you can get snazzy rewards, like digital AND print copies of the book, the Top-Secret Sketchbook, prints, and even the original comic pages!
In great news, we have reached our initial goal. So now we can move for the stretch goals!
Since we reached $500, we can print and ship 30 books AND get all the backers a KickStarter-exclusive mini-print! (Digital backers will receive it as a desktop background, while those who order book copies will get it as a mini-print.)
If we reach $600, we can print and ship 40 books AND get all the backers the new mini-comic, "Rubber Duck: The Reckoning."
Please consider pledging to Johnson & Sir, and help spread the word. Tell your friends about it and we can bring this book into the world, so more people can discover Fantasyville's epic silliness!
Thank you for reading and for your support.
You. Are. Awesome.
Risks and challenges
The biggest obstacle is really getting the bonus content done for the book. Now, most of it is already finished, and the Sketchbook PDF is 80% of the way done already. This shouldn't be a problem, but if it ever becomes one, I'll update the deadlines and everything accordingly and keep you in the loop.
The next biggest challenge is accounting for shipping out the book. I did my best to incorporate the shipping charges in the pledges (as you'll see once you choose a reward). These shipping rates shouldn't have to go up, but I want to make sure shipping won't wreck this project as I have seen happen to so many other KickStarter projects in the past.
"But wait," I can hear you say, "Is this your first KickStarter project?"
Nope! I ran a successful campaign to fund another webcomic I do (with my sister as writer) called "Seeing Him." I'll put a link in the FAQ as soon as possible. Rest assured, this isn't my first rodeo.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
