My name is Mark Christopher Thompson. I have been in the comic book industry for 20 years. I have been proud of my career as I have been involved in some great projects. One most notably where we discovered long lost comic material by the legendary Winsor McCay . The artist for whom the animation Oscar award is named after. I have created a new title called MONSTRA: ZOMBIE DESTROYER.
MONSTRA: ZOMBIE DESTROYER is a 125 page full color graphic novel printed on the highest quality glossy paper stock utilizing the pinnacle of current printing and production methods. We will also produce a limited deluxe hardcover of the graphic novel as well as a 11 x 17 sketchbook featuring pencil art from the first issue and concept art.
The story involves a sentient zombie and her slacker boyfriend at the outset of the end of days. The government has contained an initial outbreak of infected undead . A widespread zombie infestation has been averted through military involvement and the establishment of quarantined areas around the country. Small sub-sections of the human population have been discovered to be immune to the bites in varying degrees. This results in humans with this immunity being highly sought after for military service and biological testing. Monstra is one such human who has a partial resistance causing her to be half zombie half human. She joins a military outfit with her boyfriend which is assigned to eradicate zombies who roam the quarantined areas.
This title will be one of numerous titles which are included in a self-contained interactive new universe of comics characters I call UNIVERSE BORN.
Where do you come in?- Hopefully you will be reading our book sipping a margarita in four months. As a backer you will get ongoing PDF's updates prior to publication. You can decide the fate of projects and directly have a hand in deciding if a cool idea becomes part of popular culture. The money will be used for printing costs and ensuring that creators who work hard on their passion are rewarded for their time so they can earn a living bringing pleasure and enjoyment to fans. But there are a lot of other annoying but necessary financial aspects such as taxes, fees (including Kickstarter’s fee), accounting, administration, shipping, handling . Plus payment to all contributors outside the lead team who have any work dedicated to the book such as coloring , design, layout, post up, editing, and the whole gamut of talented people it takes to put out good comic books.
We have a whole range of rewards packages. Starting with some that are only a few bucks:

I like to feel that I am a disciple of the art form of comics. At critical stages in the development of the industry I have been a part of the betterment of the entire comics scene. Now with the rise of Kickstarter the industry is poised for substantial creative growth solely based on the fact that the fans can now control the quality of the stories that are told rather than industry big wigs telling YOU what to read. There will be potential pitfalls; but having been involved in both comic book publishing and publishing ventures outside of comic books, I anticipate these pitfalls and can ensure that projects come to fruition. I have published over 75 graphic novels in my career.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
