Congratulations to you and to all the folks who stepped up to save an important part of our community! Makes me proud to be living in our great City of Lebanon! Good job and pats on the back for coming together for a common goal and good. Together we can accomplish awesome things!!!
Congratulations and thank you for making this happen! You did it! I'm gonna have to make a trip to Lebanon one of these days, for popcorn and a movie, and just to say hi. What a great day!
This is Awesome!!!! Let me know when I can come see my name on the backers plaque.
Look at it from this angle, you all: filthy-rich developers are the scourge of society. We live in a status quo which favors the rich. So much romance and quality-of-life has already been destroyed.
Don't let the developers win. Again.
Give everything that you can afford right now! Even though this theatre has exceeded their goal, continue to give, and make sure that it stays open for many, many years!
I'm so stoked! We did it! Congrats!
What great news!! Congratulations to our wonderful theater and Rich and Darla and those great kids running the concessions!!!
My wife and I are overjoyed and are so happy many years are yet to come with the Kuhn Cinema and the good people there! Fabulous!!!
(I put my note int he wrong section!)
Congratulations for meeting your goal of $35,000. So many of us contributed to keep the Kuhn alive. It was amazing to watch the counter click from being just short, to exceeding your goal! Woohoo! ...and you still had four days to go!
I am so proud of our community, and those who do not even live here. Thanks to everyone for supporting our local businesses, and Keeping the Kuhn running.
It is amazing what a giving community we live in!
Btw, do we get to pick which movie we get the 4 frames of 35mm from? Also I'd like to give my tickets to my mother Vicky Bergstrom if that's ok.
Congrats on reaching the pledge goal - WITH 4 days remaining!
Don't stop pledging people.... I suspect additional funds would be appreciated for unforeseen expenses!
My wife and I moved here so I could attend medical school. We've been here for a year and half now, during that time I've only been to the theater once. I love movies, I just don't like theaters very much. Kuhn Cinema breaks out of the mold though. The theater is clean, the staff incredibly friendly, the prices are EXCELLENT, and the audience seems respectful and quiet. The cinema is beautifully redone and just a fantastic piece of this community.
While I don't have a lot of time for movies or a lot of money to spare, my wife and I decided that funding this project was a must. Please help keep this theater around.
Lebanon's Mayor, Paul Aziz, feels this is a worthy project. I donate in honor of my sister, Linda "Bumpy" Johnson who attended Elementary through High School with Mayor Aziz. She passed in April 2011. We all grew up in the small community of Lennox, California. I still live in California, yet I support your city, Lebanon. Please keep the spirit of small town America alive & donate to "Keep the Kuhn Cinema" of Lebanon Oregon. Thank you for allowing me to help <3 Families Are Forever!!!!
C'mon don't let the Kuhn die. It happened in my town to the only theater we had. I guess no one gave a thought to using Kickstarter to promote the common good. Don't let it happen in Lebanon.
See a couple of LUHS class of 93 kids backing this, Luke and Eric, you know I pointing at you! Dare we throw down a class of 93 challenge? Looks like the class of 86 has their own pledge...
The Kuhn theater is a fabulous, wholesome place for the community to come and enjoy a warm, comfortable atmosphere, that links this wonderful historic theater to our modern entertainment and recreation, like a time machine!
As you wait for the movie to start, you can admire the beautfully done restoration job of Rich and Darla Pitts, who restored the theater to its new sound system, comfortable seating (even with drink holders!) and redone ceiling and ..well, the whole thing, clean and beautiful and nostalgic. The bathrooms are very clean and nice, the entire theater has had a loving touch to bring back the nostalgia and beauty of past times.
First there is Darla, smiling in the front booth, then that wonderful archway as you enter towards the refreshment stand and lobby, and see the smiling pair behind the vending counter and smell the fresh popcorn popping!
On Tuesday a medium drink and popcorn are only $1 apiece! And the great kids serving at the counter... the whole experience is uplifting.
It is simply wonderful to sink into the warm atmosphere and to feel like a kid again, in your favorite place, and it brings back all those good memories!
I doubled my pledge-will you?
Grew up in Lebanon and, as a kid, got kicked out of that theater for running more times than I can count. My first official date was in that theater and there wa nothing as nice as a double feature on a baking hot summer day. Hope we can save it!
Please donate, you all! I am in CA, a great supporter of classic film, and of preservation, and realize that we simply cannot allow our community theatres to shutter. Historical or not; local or far away. Living pieces of history; standing reminders of what once was, and what can be again. Community landmarks; representative of the real progress in society.
To the theatre: I pledged $30, yet is there a way for me to get the tee shirt as well? Thanks :)
Love going to the Kuhn, let's keep it around!
I've lived in Lebanon my whole life, and the Kuhn is the only safe. fun place to go. without it i could see my friends turning to darker, worse decisions
Please help fund this project. Thus is a great place to g on a quiet Sunday afternoon to see a good movie at a reasonable price. I love to take my grandkids. We have fun and great bonding. Small town America needs your help to keep the traditions alive. It is a great place to keep the funds local.
This project really needs to be funded! I'm worried with out a theater, there won't be much for families to do in our little town. Everyone will have to drive out of town to see a movie! That's not only inconvenient but bad for Lebanon's economy!
