Stretch Goal #6 - Outpost With Interior Unlocked!

Finally Stretch Goal #6 - Outpost with interior unlocked! I wanted to design something different again and I thought why not try and create structures with interior? The current size I have right now barely fits one of my space marines but those marines are about 40mm tall including the base so I think it should be fine for 28mm unless you guys think different. I really wanted to create something that feels like a closet or the janitor's room where there's barely any room to move and you can only literally rotate inside.

This version of the Outpost contains a door that you can place on top through the opening as well as two decorative pieces - console and barrel. Yes more barrels!

I already have another stretch goal in mind and will start working on it, it will be unlocked once we reach $6000! Basically I will try my best to keep stretch goals coming for you guys to show my appreciation for the support even though I am quite busy with my life these days (wedding coming up in Sept!). Again I cannot thank all of you enough for all the support.

@Stevie G perhaps I will keep that in mind for my next volume :) That is really helpful and good to know.

I will probably print these out slightly larger to have a tad more room for figures. I don't know that YOU need to change anything.

The problem with trying to design something to fit minis that have random poses is that there is always somebody (looking at you commander!) who is raising a chainsword up in the air, or a bolt pistol, or a power sword, and those guys are never going to fit.

Many of today's sci-fi figures tend to be "heroic" meaning more like 32mm than 28mm. And they sit on bases that are another 3mm thick. So a trooper like that, standing next to a 28mm doorway will look a little odd. So I will probably scale up anything with an obvious doorway maybe 10-15-20% until the doorway is more 32-35mm in height.

One of the SUPER benefits of having .STL files is being able to do just that, scale them up or down to accommodate the games we play and the minis we use.

@Olaf it CAN be a dice box :)

@Stevie G without the top it is about 6.8cm wide, 3.9cm tall and 8.7cm deep and they can barely fit two of my guys in there but they would be a bit too tall for the outpost by maybe half a cm.

Is it better for me to make it able to fit a space marine or should I keep it as is for 28mm in general? The height of the door is about 29mm already. You can always print this 110% or something to accommodate.

      Please let me know!

Love the interiors! How large are these structures? I ask because I can easily see some of my 40K friends wanting to say they have a 5-man squad hidden in them, and even if they can't be physically placed inside, if it looks like you could crowd 5 guys on regular bases inside, that is large enough to work in game.

If they are really only large enough for maybe 2 guys, then they will still serve as very cool terrain to use as cover and block LOS.

Heck, I thought it looked like a cool Dice Box.. ;p
