From my last campaign I was able to learned a lot about designing modular tiles with everyone's support (thank you!). After reading the comments / opinions from everyone and thinking about this for some time I have decided to leave behind my "proprietary" modular tile designs and embrace the OpenLOCK system. With this system I don't have to worry about gluing the pieces together and worry about them getting knocked over. But one feature I am porting over from previous to this volume is the swap-able "center piece" idea as I still think this is pretty interesting feature to keep.
Designing the tiles that are compatible with the OpenLOCK system poses a new and quite exciting challenge for me mainly because now I need to make sure the designs for the tiles feel "connected" and "related" to each other when you actually build the dungeon. Often times I had to undo my designs because they became to distinct from the rest.
This time I am going for the clean and smooth looks like you see in sci-fi shows / movies. One thing for certain though is that there will be different designs down the road.
The base set consists of over 38 pieces of doors / gates, bases that are designed to work with center pieces from previous volume, walls in different sizes as well as all new center pieces. If you pledge for the Deluxe you will also get an additional 30+ pieces from volume 1 mainly for the center pieces and decorations. Note you are not paying the full price of volume 1 because the walls / gates will not be OpenLOCK compatible. Although you can still use the tiles, walls and gates from volume 1 on their own if you choose to do so.
Update: I have redesigned majority if not all of the models from volume 1 to be OpenLOCK compatible. Now 8 additional pieces redesigned are included in Deluxe pledges:
- 3 walls
- 1 plain style base
- shuttle bay extension and end pieces
- resized the shuttle accordingly
- 1 gate
The three biggest tiles are 152.4mm x 152.4mm tiles, follow by the 50.8mm x 50.8mm, 50.8mm x 25.4mm, 76.2mm x 25.4mm and finally the smallest square tiles are 25.4mm x 25.4mm.
Note: All models that you are getting in STL file format (NOT THE PHYSICAL MODELS) are for personal use only and may NOT be used for commercial purpose (selling and/or distributing for profit).

Risks and challenges
Since you will only be receiving digital STL files, the risk is kept at the minimum because there is NO ACTUAL PHYSICAL delivery involved. And with over 6 successful projects you can be sure that I will deliver.
Quality of the printed models will depend on your printer settings. Almost all models can be printed with minimal to no support. If there are any issues, I would be more than happy to provide assistance!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
