Have a question?
Yeah I agree. And absolute silence as to when we can actually get ours. There has been no word on the pledge manager.
It's a bit irritating that the book was available for sale to to the public before being shipped to loyal backers. Especially since they arrived in the US a month and a half ago. It seriously makes me rethink supporting future Arcanis Kickstarters.
Any timeframe estimates, since you have Books to send out?
When are we actually going to get the PM for this?
(Hit "post" too soon)
The quality, the art, the content. All fantastic!
Picked up my book at Origins. Mind blown!
Just to make sure as many as possible see this, I forgot to mention to those picking up their copies at Origins 2018, that we will be located at Booth 437 in the Dealer's Room. Hope to see you there!
Got it. Thank You!
Hello Pietro - Please see my last update. Thank you.
The PM to add stuff dnd pay shipping is still on hold?
@Christian - No problem. I hope the PDFs will keep you going until the physical books aarive.
@Henry, should have waited a few minutes,,, since you now have posted a very informative post regarding everything you need to know - keep up the good work!
@Christian - I think you may have overlooked it in the Updates, but the books haven't arrived at our warehouse yet, so non one has received the books yet.
We'll announce when they start going out. No need to worry.
Hi, still havn't got my book yet - use to take some extra time to get thing shipped to Sweden - but know I suspect something might be wrong,,,
Any thoughts to offering Codex of the Mind as print on demand?
@Ben - If you check the book mark for that page, you'll see.
On page 131 of the Blessed Lands book there is an offset box with a bunch of all-capital letters that do not seem to form any coherent thought. Is that intentional - is it a puzzle? Or is that placeholder text that never got replaced?
@Knight Hawk - Not at all. Now's the time to send in any errors you may find. Please send them to PCIHenry@gmail.com. Thank you!
There are a couple of mistakes on the GM screen. Is it too late to fix them?
@Wade - I posted about the Core book being sent to the printer on the 2/22 update.
I should have proofs coming next week.
Any update on the books going to print?
I am still hoping we raise enough in backerkit for Codex of the Mind in Print.
I'm having trouble viewing the Backers Edition with preview on my Mac. I can view it fine with Acrobat and on my iPad, but with Preview (look at page 17 and page 27) something seems wrong. Has anyone else had this issue?
I realize that these things take time.
@Donald - We'll get to work on the certs once the books are off to the printer.
Yes, I'm due a cert for an Altherian Clockwork Warrior myself. I just didn't realize that only those with the certs got the stats.
@Donald - Those were special certs that were part of a reward level, as you can see in the main page of the Kickstarter, Only those that pledged at those levels are due to receive the stats and certs for those races.
I'm a backer of this kickstarter. Should I have received those races? I realize that some races require certs to play in Living Arcanis, but is there any way to get information about those races for home games? Thanks!
@Donald - Same actually applies to small races. There are no common player races that are small sized in Arcanis. Gnomes are Medium since they are descendants of 2 medium races.
@Donald - There are large-sized races in the world of Arcanis, some of which were released to backers of this Kickstarter. These include the Agamassi/Horned Jowl ss'ressen and the Ibon. However, these races are not common in the world and appear to be reserved for special characters by backers at this time.
I think the book looks great! The art looks great, and in my opinion the layout I can follow quite well and looks as good or better than those produced by larger companies like WotC. Can't wait to dig into the content to make up some characters :D
I downloaded the Arcanis_5E_Campaign_Setting_ALPHA_Document.pdf. I know this is a labor of love for Henry and his team, but I am extremely disappointed with one design choice: the use of watermarked pages. That may not be the correct term. I'm referring to the beige/gray background color on all the pages. I think it's ugly (subjective opinion) and it makes the text more difficult to read(objective fact) by reducing the color contrast between the text and the background page. I know this is common in Pathfinder and other RPG books. I'm not sure why. It's especially taxing on the eyes to read text in the outer portions of the pages where the background color is darker.
Am I the only one who is bothered by this design choice? It would be nice if pdfs were made available that had a simple white background. They are sometimes referred to as "printer-friendly" versions. In any case, I would much prefer a book with a white or off-white background color.
There's a mention that there are large races, or races with the ability to become large. On a quick search, I'm not finding them. Which races are those?
@Robert - Not yet, but it shouldn't be too much longer. The book is in layout. Once the index and such are added, the Campaign Setting should be 416 pages in length.
@Michael - Not until we get close to books being ready to ship.
Is there any news on when we will see the pledge manager?
@Robert - Per the lead rules designer: In Arcanis, due to bloodline powers, Feats are a ‘default’ rule for the Arcanis campaign. Thus the +1 to all stats is not an option for humans.
If you have further rules questions, it might be best to ask them in either the FB Arcanis page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1118837464832751/) or the PCI forums (www.paradigmconcepts.com/boards)
Thank you for the question.
Love the primer on the living arcanis site, but players had a question. Is it intentional that humans have only 2 '+1' modifiers added to their stats rather than to all stats? This different than Other companies 5th edition PHB.
Sorry to bother you on this site, but made a promise to ask and I try my best to keep my promises.
@Robert - The same to you and all the backers.
Cool thanks for the response. Have a happy holidays.
@Robert - As I said, I don't have an exact date on when the PDF will be ready to send out. What I would do is use the rules as presented in the Primer and then allow a restructuring of characters once the PDF is out. That's the rule we use in the Living Arcanis 5E campaign and it seems to work well there.
Henry, so you were talking about pdf's in weeks rather than months. Just started a new group and was going to use Arcanis. If the PDF will be available in a few weeks, I would put off character creation until I have it. Just wanted your take on if you still think the Pdf's will be sent out soon?
Thank you Mr.Lopez. I was referring to Codex Geographica Vol. 1 - Cradle of Empires, The Blessed Lands. Looking forward to Arcanis!
@Patrick - Im not sure which Codex Geographica you're referring to. If you mean the Cradle of Empires one, then yes that's being converted and published with 5E rules.
If you're referring to Codex Geographica: Ssethregore: In the Coils of the Serpent Empire, that may be converted to 5E,but it's not a done deal yet.
Hello? Anyone? Is this mostly fluff (love fluff), or more tied to the Arcanis system or would it supplement our kickstarted tome?
So the Codex Geographica... worth getting or will everything in it be on the new 5e book? Is it mostly fluff? Or tied to the season system? Thoughts all?
@Jeremy - You should be able to log into to your account and change it as I did not lock the "Change Address" option.
How do I change the shipping address?
Thank goodness!! That's great yo hear!!
