Existential dread: it plagues the human psyche. But now, you can have your very own buffer for the moments when you are falling into the chasmic void of existence!
Introducing the Dread Blanket. The Dread Blanket provides the perfect conditions to face your own mortality in comfort.
The Dread Blanket
It's soft black color reflects the absence of all things, including yourself! As well as serves to soak up some UV rays should you be staring directly into the sun during your bout of terror. The optional built in grips provide the perfect relief for your attempts to grasp for meaning in your life as you question your own significance. The smooth quilted fabric is reminiscent of your childhood bedding so you can be soothed into remembering your beginnings as you ponder the end.
Once you wrap your Dread Blanket around yourself, you can tremble with the full weight of unknowingness without damaging your furniture or scuffing the cold hard floor you're lying on.
Added bonus! A pocket to store your essential oils or other soothing dread crutches.
Let the Dread Blanket inspire a false sense of security and distraction as you attempt to weed through the answers to the questions that may materialize such as;
What am I doing with my life?
What am I doing?
What am I?
You can know that with every purchase you make, you commit to joining with all others who are using their Dread Blanket (probably at the same moment as you are) reminding you that we’re all connected to each other despite being a separate entity floating alone in the universe.
Optional: Attachable Grip Handles
Book of the Dread

Who is the Dread Box for?
Anyone! Especially those who are going through important life transitions, mid-life crises, or just ponder the meaning of life so often you feel they may need a hug.
Why are we doing this?
Besides the fact that it’s fun, we really do want to normalize communication about topics that highlight the darker or more difficult aspects of humanity. The more authentic moments we have, the more connected we feel to each other and ultimately to ourselves. This project is a starter for what we hope to be a line of therapeutic objects for kids and adults. The proceeds will go to completing this project and starting others.
How was the prototype created?
Hand sewn on a home sewing machine with materials from a local craft shop. Lots of pin pricks.
Who is writing the Book of the Dread?
Sam from the bio section.
