About the Project
THE BIG BAD WOLF, REVISITED
He Huffed and He Puffed But... is a fractured fairytale that takes a new spin on an age old story. It is a "tail" about asthma through the eyes of the Big Bad Wolf, also known as Tim Burwulf. Tim is a young pup with a taste for three little pigs. However, when he tries to blow their houses down, he can't! Each house he encounters acts as a trigger for his asthma: flowers at the stick house, dust at the straw house, and smoke at the brick house. After visiting the doctor and pharmacist, Tim learns all about the symptoms and treatments of asthma that aid him in regaining his "huff and puff."
Children will love following along Tim's adventure and learning with him, as he discovers that he can overcome asthma and be the Big Bad Wolf he has always wanted to be.
Why We Are Passionate About This Book:
THIS IS A PROJECT THAT EVERYONE CAN BE PROUD TO SUPPORT
"When I was growing up, I can remember my twin brothers taking breathing treatments every night because they had asthma. However, I never really understood what it was. I have full confidence that this book will allow children to learn about asthma in a fun and engaging way, which is an opportunity that I didn’t have as a child. " - Alex Davis, Marketing
“I am excited for what is to come in bringing our ideas to life with this project. We have taken a classic fairytale and given a new meaning to the phrase “Huff and Puff.” Our work is providing children with an imaginative story to read and giving adults the perfect way to educate children about asthma.” - Maggie Anderson, Marketing
“I am very excited to have the opportunity to further explore one of my greatest passions, children’s literature. Through my work on this project, I have been able to learn more about the various components that go into creating a quality piece of children’s literature. I have learned that the writing process takes imagination, research, collaboration, and an understanding of the desires, concerns, and dreams of children.” - Jennifer Goshert, Education
What We Need From You:
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS BOOK A SUCCESS
The purpose of writing this book is purely educational; no members of the team are receiving any profit. In order to make this book possible, we need to raise $2,000. This money will go towards meeting the publishing cost of ordering 1,000 books.
If we exceed our goal, extra donations will be used to order more books (if needed). Otherwise, your contribution will help fund another Butler University, student-led project.

Risks and challenges
We have the support of Butler University as well as a team of academic advisors, therefore, any possible risks and challenges will be addressed appropriately. Possible issues may occur with shipping; however, the team takes full responsibility for these issues (if they arise) and will be able to rectify the situation as soon as possible. Another notable challenge deals with the idea that rewards may not be shipped out on time. If the book is not published according to our timeline, then backers may not receive their reward by the listed date. In the off chance that this does occur, the team can ensure that the backer will be notified and will get the award as soon as possible.
The team is confident that we can properly handle any situation in a professional way.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
