The campaign runs until 9AM central time, Monday, November 26th, and we're setting a little stretch goal for these final hours. If we reach it, heck, we'll set another one! Let's go crazy!
- $37,500 *REACHED* - If we reach this stretch goal, all backers who have pledged $25 or more will receive FOUR hand-lettered/illustrated prints inspired by four songs off the new record!
- $40,000 - All backers who have pledged $50 or more will have their names listed in the album credits and liner notes on the physical copies of the new record!!!
Hey everyone! We’re a folk band based in Nashville, TN called The Arcadian Wild, and we’re getting ready to make our SECOND ALBUM! We’re setting a goal of $35,000 to:
- record with our friend Evan Redwine at The Art House here in Nashville
- pay our buddies joining us in the studio for their MANY hours of hard work & preparation
- produce CD’s, stickers, t-shirts, & other merchandise for the supporters of the campaign
- print VINYL for the FIRST TIME EVER!!!
- cover the cost of shipping out all the rewards next year
- throw a killer album release party
This is our second venture on Kickstarter. We were overwhelmed by the support we received the first time, and we’re excited to partner with you all again as we begin the next chapter of our story together.
Another thing we’re excited about surrounding this project is that we’re partnering with an independent label based in New York City called Antifragile Music to release and promote the record. We’re eager to work with Tom Sarig and his awesome team to push the new music to new ears across the country and around the globe.
Over the last five years, the music we’ve made has allowed us to connect with the most wonderful people, both in person and through the wonders of the internet. We like that. We think that’s what all this is for. For connection. For community. For belonging.
If you’re familiar with our story, you know that we play in people’s homes. Frequently. That’s always been a staple of our work together, and it’s one of our favorite things about being touring musicians. Because of that, we’ve naturally been the recipients of hospitality. Generous friends offer up their homes as gathering places, as sanctuaries in which we can all come together and share in sacred moments. We want this music to be an act of hospitality. We want people to be able to gather around it, as they would a fire on a cold night. Or within it, as a refuge from a fierce storm.
We want to thank everyone who has walked with us throughout this journey, and carried us to where we are now. To those of you who have supported us financially, and let us turn your homes into concert venues, and given us beds to sleep in, and invited us to your tables to share meals with you. We cannot appropriately express our gratitude to you and for you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We love you.
Let’s make a record, fam.
Risks and challenges
One thing that makes this project unique for us is the fact that for the most part, this is brand new music that we’ve NEVER performed for an audience before. That’s different for us. We usually sit on a song for a while and perform it a handful of times at shows before we record it. This time, the tunes are going to be farm-fresh, and they’re going to keep us on our toes from start to finish in the studio. Certain tunes might present little unexpected challenges, or we may stumble on some new exhilarating ideas in the studio that could reshape a song. We want to practice patience and give this record space to breathe as we’re making it, but we promise to also work as quickly and efficiently as possible, and update our backers often on our progress and timeline.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
