I want to create a small book of images from my travel journals that will have notes on drawing and travel with an occasional haiku.
I am creating a book called Mango Baskets and Rickshaw Blessings, a travel journal to share with you my drawings, selected from my 55 travel journals. With the help of Vermont designer Craig Dicken we will create a small format, 50 page (or more) book of our favorite images. We have chosen a small format to create the intimacy and feel of my originals journals. This will be a limited edition book that will be an overview of my journal drawings from around the world appealing to artists, people who love to travel, journal keepers and those who love books.
Design and production are in the works with plans for a mid-summer release and book-signing. Your donation will help pay for design, production and printing of this limited edition book that will not only honor these amazing cultures and places I've experienced but may inspire others to observe, draw, or write about the beauty of the world around them.
I am grateful to all who have encouraged me to publish these drawings and to all those who show their support by making a donation. To thank you we have come up with some awesome "awards" including original works of art, archival prints, our limited edition book Mango Baskets and Rickshaw Blessings, a travel journal, private art lessons and even a studio visit, magic show and lunch with the artist and her husband, Tom Verner, founder of Magicians Without Borders. Everyone will receive an invitation to an up-coming exhibition of the artist's travel journals.
We have a limited time, only 30 days, to raise the funds requested so acting now will make this book happen. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
