I'm from a small town in country Victoria called Euroa. I've always had a love for fashion, and have been creating garments for myself over the last few years. I'd love to start making more for others.
Check out my Facebook Page.
This is a summer holiday fundraising project to help me kickstart my small business - Megan Elise Design.
The funds I raise through this project will also help me purchase essential equipment, like my own overlocker.
Basically, I'm going to spend my summer making a limited series of one-off custom garments for those who decide to pledge!
When you pledge you'll provide me with some information:
Your measurements - so I can tailor the garment to your size.
Something about yourself - You love trees? The beach? The colour purple? Girly lace? This info will help me design your garment.
A photo of yourself - Not a necessity, but it will help me find styles and colours that suit you.
Once I have all of your information I'll get designing. I have several months off over the summer, and will be working full time on the project.
As I design and complete each garment, I'll blog about the process, so you can follow along! (Here on my Tumblr!) As they are completed, they will be shipped off to you, as soon as possible!
It's as simple as that. I design, manufacture and ship. All by hand, all with love, and hopefully you'll love it too.
Thanks to Sydney band White With One, for letting me use their cool song - Clinical Precision. They're pretty excellent.
Risks and challenges
The main risk my project faces is getting all of the garments constructed on time. Hand-making every piece to a high quality takes a lot of time.
However, I have several months of full time work dedicated to production, and have limited rewards to ensure the workload remains achievable.
