The Spanish are Coming!

Dear Sails of Glory backers,

our Kickstarter project is closed, but Sails of Glory continues to sail the crowded seas of the gaming industry, and we are proud to announce a new series is coming to stores next November.

First and foremost, in this new series are important Spanish Ships such as the "Meregildos" and Nepomuceno-class 74 guns. Playing Trafalgar full-scale with our rules and ships is now not a far-fetched possibility...

Also included are additional ships for the French and British to round up your fleet: 64-gun Artesien class, and 50-gun 4th rate Portland class ships, adding possibilities to a variety of scenarios, as these ships saw action across many seas and campaigns, in different roles.

In total, there will be four different models, each in three versions, Each ship pack will include two-sided ship logs with alternate versions.

Artésien (1765) - French 64-gun ship of the line

Note that we are not offering these ships for direct sale. You are welcome to support your favorite hobby store by adding them to your collection and your gaming fleet, of course! You can find all the details on these new models on our website.

Thanks for your support, and if any of you is in Essen, stop at our booth 3-E-100 to meet our crew and say hello!

Four Origin Awards to Sails of Glory

Dear friends,

The Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design has announced Saturday the winners of the 2015 Origins Awards, presented at the ceremony at Origins Game Fair in Columbus, Ohio.  The nominees and winners were selected by the Academy.

Sails of Glory won as "Best Historical Miniature Rules" and "Best Historical Miniature Line", receiving in both categories both the Critics' Choice and Fan Favorite Award. Our Wings of Glory also won, in the "Best Gaming Accessory" category.

We shall never forget that this game owes to you, our backers, its successful launch and even more successful development, and we really want tothank you, once again, for your amazing support.

It ain't over until it's over (or is it?)

Sails of Glory Backers!

To the best of our knowledge, the fulfillment of the Kickstarter is now over.

We are still chasing a few individual addresses from some of you we've not heard from for a long while, to send the replacement rulers and/or the Victory and Constitution.

So, if for any reason you still did not get some of your rewards, please send us a message and we will look into your individual case.

While the Sails of Glory Kickstarter is completed, we plan for Sails of Glory to long live and prosper, thanks to your support.

We are at work on the next wave of ships, that we hope should be on the market beforeth e end of the year. With this release, we will add to the English fleet 50-gun Portland class ships, 64-gun Artesien class ships for the French, as well as new ships-of-the-line for the Spanish fleet - the fundamental Meregildos (Santa Ana, Real Carlos, Principe de Asturias...) and Third-Rate ships such as the San Juan Nepomuceno and Bahama.

We are also at work on a set of rules allowing you to expand your game to play with a larger number of ships, and other add-ons, to enhance your gameplay experience.

Before good-byes, a short reminder that at Enfilade! 2015, next week-end, our friends of NHMGS will try to play the largest Sails of Glory game ever, with 71 ships. Will they succeed in breaking the record of 50 players and ships from last year's GenCon? Will you be one of those brave captains!

Thanks for your support, and we hope to meet you in person at Origins or GenCon!

At long last!

At long last, the shipment with USS Constitution and HMS Victory has been delivered to our warehouse!

Shipments to our Kickstarter backers who are waiting for them will begin in earnest.

Those backers waiting for replacement wooden rulers will receive them together with these ship packs.

Thanks for your patience, and we look forward to the completing of this last and final step of our Sails of Glory Kickstarter.

Victory and Constitution, Where are They?

Sails of Glory Backers,

a brief update regarding the ordeal of our long-awaited new ships.

The container with HMS Victory and USS Constitution has finally reached the delivery hub of our freight forwarder in Chicago. This means that we are now confident that the delivery to our warehouse - and the shipment to you - is really close, a matter of days if not hours.

We will send you a new update as the final delivery is confirmed.

Please also allow me to give a shout out regarding two projects which are dear to us:

  • our friend Tom Maringer, the craftsman who created the beautiful Hyborian Coins in our Age of Conan Kickstarter, is running a project to fund his new production, Game of Thrones Coins... Check it out!
  • we are in the final two days of our Giants of the Sky Kickstarter, funding the production of the most amazing Wings of Glory models ever. These models (and the game) are really good! Whether you are familiar with the "old bro" of Sails of Glory yet, or not (the "Rookie" pledge is for you in this case), take a look!

We will be in touch with more news - hopefully VERY soon!
