Nuseti is a new generation mountain bike, equipped with the Inner Drive System - a revolutionary drive unit, developed especially for the mountain biking industry. It's a top quality project for anyone who appreciates mountain biking adventures. Created by a true passionate - Gregory Zielinski - a multiple National Championship winner of mountain bike downhill racing, from Poland.
This project was started in 2008 and is currently in the last stage of development. We are here to show you the results of our work thus far and invite you to join us through Kickstarter.
The key of the whole project is the Inner Drive System - an innovative, completely encapsulated drive unit that is absolutely resistant to mechanical and weather factors. This makes the drive reliable, durable and clean.

The planetary gearbox, as well as the rest of the working elements (chain, chainrings, freewheel), are completely enclosed in the frame construction and remain permanently lubricated. The working elements don't get contaminated with dust, mud, etc., which makes the drive free from frequent maintenance and very durable. The IDS is absolutely unaffected by weather conditions and always works at its highest efficiency, even riding in the worst conditions you can imagine.
The heart of Inner Drive System is a 16-speed planetary gearbox.
IDS gearbox technical specification:

The IDS gearbox provides a gear range of 570%, while offering 16 ratios as specified in the graph below.
What do above numbers mean ?
Gear no.1 with a 0.66 ratio is comparable to a traditional drive with a 22-teeth front chainring, working with a 33-teeth rear chainring.
Gear no.16 with a 3.77 ratio is comparable to a traditional drive with a 42-teeth front chainring, working with a 11-teeth rear chainring.
The maximum input torque is 250 Nm / 184 lb-ft. This means that you can safely apply on a pedal force of 147 kg / 326 lbs while pedaling.
The Inner Drive System has been designed to be easy to use as much as possible. It's equipped with a quick-release rear wheel axle that allows for quick and easy wheel releasing without any contact with greased elements (chain, chainrings). Gear shifting is based on single lever trigger shifters - one on the right side for selecting slower gears, and one on the left side for selecting faster gears. The IDS allows for switching gears without pedaling, which means that you don't have to turn the cranks just to engage the selected gear. Once you click the trigger, the gear is immediately ready for use. Furthermore, the IDS allows for switching gears under full pedaling power. This means that you don't have to reduce your pedaling force only to switch gears while riding steep sections.
In summary, Nuseti bikes incorporates the exciting, new IDS technology that we are going to offer in a carbon fiber frame - giving you a bike that you will simply fall in love with.To make the dream come true, we need to further invest in its development - to manufacture tools for the carbon fiber frame production and adapt existing technologies to start serial production of gearboxes.
Where does the money go ?
500 000GBP is a price for 133 complete bikes
The green part is what is necessary to turn the project into the serial production. This includes:
22% - tolls for carbon fiber frame production ( 10 different moulds for 10 types of offered frames )
10% - adaptation of technologies - tools for serial production of gearboxes
4% - testing lab equipment - building a stand for laboratory frame testing
The white part are the costs of production as well as necessary fees. This includes:
29% - components ( wheels, forks, cranks, brakes, handlebars, seatposts, stems, saddles, pedals grips, headsets, tires, grips )
27% - production of carbon fiber frames and gearboxes
5% - Kickstarter fee
3% - funds transfering fee

Risks and challenges
The future for Nuseti
With your support through Kickstarter, you will be helping us quickly turn the Nuseti project into reality for all to enjoy! Furthermore, with the introduction of the Inner Drive System, we’re convinced that it will set a new standard of excellence in the world of mountain biking. With our fans in mind, our action include setting up a worldwide network of after-sales support and service points. You’ll be able to find everything you need to provide the best care for your bike at a trusted Nuseti authorized dealer. The list of dealers will be published on Kickstarter profile at least 1 week before the end of the campaign.
Since this project was launched over five years ago, we have overcome all challenges and successfully proven its concept through extensive development and testing. Until now, we have eliminated everything that could stop it from entering the marketplace. First, in a technical way - as we have a working gearbox. Second, in a legal way - as we have gone through patent research and we know that our path to start production is clear. There is only a question of when we’ll deliver on our promise. It is the most common question bikers have. The fear of a broken chain is based on the conviction that the chain „ can normally” break at some time. It doesn't break normally - there is a specific reason for that. The chain in a bike drive breaks always when it gets loaded working out of alignment, which is normal in a traditional drive because this is exactly how it works to achieve different ratios. Especially it happens in situations while changing gears and applying pedaling force at the same time. Forces of various directions generated then, simply disconnect particular pieces of the chain - pay attention to the way how the chain gets usually damaged and you will see that it is always about disconnecting the pieces, not about breaking pieces into half itself, and even if one side of the chain breaks - it happens because of the other side gets disconnected first. So it is all about the wrong and risky way of how the chain is being used - which comes from an out of date drive design.
The Inner Drive System has a solution for this. It uses a gearbox to change gears while the function of the chain is limited to transfering the power from the gearbox to the wheel. The chain cooperates with only one chainring in the gearbox section and one in the hub section. It's kept in alignment all of the time. In this configuration it is simply impossible to break the chain with the force coming from the riders legs only. This force can be precisely counted and the right chain can be used to carry it - and this is a proper engineering.
The perfect example of succesfull usage of the chain is a timing-gear in a car engine. The Inner Drive System is about to work exactly the same way.
