Thank you very much for checking out my project. My name is Kim Trumbo and if you watched the video, you may have read that I'm the author of this children's book, George The Generous Giraffe.
My passion in the past year has been hosting a podcast called, "Generosity Philosophy." With the podcast I highlight stories of people who are out in our world doing generous acts and deeds. It's very encouraging and inspiring to hear these stories. With the podcast I have been encouraging the adults and teens who listen to give back to others and be a bit more generous in their lives. Myself and family have also taken this advice and been much more generous ourselves in the past year than we've ever been before! While, encouraging adults and teens is all good and dandy, I wanted to write a children's book to promote generosity to kids as well.
With this book my hope is children all over the world will smile, giggle, and be inspired by George and his animal friends. Additionally, my hope is they begin thinking about generosity and how they can help others in need.
The $1,200 is the funding needed to cover the cost of paying the illustrator (who has already provided me with a couple of sketches) for the whole project of creating colored images for the whole book, including her fees to design and create the cover. I'll also use the funding to purchase multiple ISBN numbers so I can sell the book in multiple formats across multiple platforms, such as Amazon, my website, etc.
See the illustration below. This part of the story reads:
"Why is he called the generous giraffe, you say? Because George loves to give things away. George always shares extra clothes, toys, and things he does not need. He also donates his time, skills, and even his money-indeed!"
Again, thank you for considering helping get this "kick started." If you're not able to help fund the project, sharing it on social media is also VERY generous of you!

p.s. This is just the beginning of a whole series of books (A to Z) with animals who have stories to help teach children about how to be a shinning bright light in this sometimes dark world.
Risks and challenges
With this book being the first book I've published there may be some hiccups along the way. However, I've been in close communication with the illustrator, and as long as she can fulfill the project within the timelines she says she can (and I can pay her), then I don't expect any risks or challenges.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
