After Us is an online zombie anthology that invites its audience to participate in how the story is told. We want to explore the potential new internet media has in the realm of visual story telling. To do this we have created the ideal web page on which to distribute the project. It features a simple black page with dates and time stamps on it. Each of these time stamps are clickable and will take the audience to a three to five minute video that showcases one of eight stories in the After Us world. This way the viewer knows how the story fits together chronologically, but they have the option to experience the world how they want. We chose this medium for a story about a cure for the zombie apocalypse because it showcases, as the film does, the world coming together to heal. We want to use this money to make this first short film, that will springboard the rest of the story. The first script is called Silver.
Silver is the story of Daniel Hanks. A doctor working tirelessly to find a cure for the infection that destroyed the world. It has been months since he has seen another person. As he works, Daniel has come to realize more and more the depth of humanity each creature has, despite their appearance. They still maintain characteristics similar to those they had when they were still “living.” As Daniel seeks the cure, he must make sacrifices of the infected, destroying himself as he does. Slowly, his mysterious past comes to haunt him as we piece together his tragic origin.

It is important that you understand where your money is going. We've created a budget and broken it down into a chart below
Production design is a huge part of any film trying to create another world, so that is where the majority of the money is going. We really want this world to feel realistic, so we have to purchase a lot of items to make this happen. This includes makeup, costuming, and set decorating/construction.
Safety is our next concern. We want to make this film, but to do so we might end up in some pretty dangerous locations. Because of this, we have developed an intricate safety plan that includes insurance, chains and handholds so everyone can get into and out of the locations.
Paying our crew is important to us. We have some incredibly talented individuals working on the project, and we want to make their time worth while.
Camera and grip equipment will give this film the quality it deserves. The better we do here, the more streamlined we can make post production, allowing us to distribute the product sooner.
Getting quality actors for this project is also essential. To do this we must give them some kind of conpensation. Fortunately, there aren't many cast members so this isn't a huge portion of the budget.

Risks and challenges
Safety is a huge concern for us. We will be dealing with a lot of unique and beautiful locations, but old buildings have a tendency to be dangerous. We have a safety team lined up and ready to help us, we have allocated a good portion of our budget into this area.
As with all film projects, there is a risk of things not coming together or getting done. We have plotted out the exact trajectory of this project so it WILL be finished by the end of October this year. Our team is dedicated, and, looking at their IMDB pages, has been successful in media production. This project will be made on time, and the funds gained from this kickstarter will be reimbursed through the rewards promised.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
