The geometry for the Praxis Zero is derived from a master set of key dimensions. This is done by specifying algorithms and constraints in a parametric design software package. Using this technology, it is possible that no two guitars from this production run will be made the same.
These are the current design parameters that can be customized (more to be added later)
Scale length (Max and Min not set yet - pushing for 23" to 27")
string spacings (I am trying to manipulate the variables to get the max >2" @ bridge)
Neck profile (More on this later)
fingerboard topography (constant radius, compound radius, scalloping)
pickup configuration (Location, type of pickup)
The type of pickups used will be determined when we have a better idea of what the order volume will be.
For the purchasers of the Burnt Mantis-
You can find a sample outline of the laser etch zones here. NOTE: you will only receive the outline of your guitar after you specify your dimensions, after the kickstarter ends - so if you draw on this, it may not fit your guitar. The final version will come in two flavors: vector graphics for filling in on a computer, and a printable version that can be hand drawn.
You can find a demonstration of the mini media fun pack here. Many more photos and drawings will be added when the fun packs are launched, with high resolution photos and vector drawings.
The recordings for the multimedia fun pack will be started as soon as I get some decent recording equipment.
The mega media pack will feature an instructional system meant for teaching how to customize and build a Praxis Zero. A demo is forthcoming.
