Made in Italy, Designed in Vail, we create stylish women's optics with a technical twist, the best on the market.
OUR PROJECT GOAL:
***introducing THE NYLON aviator sunglasses***
We want to bring the most chic, most advanced technology to women's eyewear, and this means in the form of the most amazing aviators ever produced! As the final eyewear project accepted on Kickstarter, we are honored to share this project & story. It's a great one!
Church and State Optics™ has primarily been a ski goggle company before this past Spring when we launched our first Sunnies collection, a sunglass collection that received huge fanfare from buyers and press alike. Now that we have expanded into the sunglass market, we are ready to take our line to bigger heights by introducing a stylish aviator with a brand new technology that's brand new to the optic world. As they say, ladies first!
Keeping true to our philosophy of using the best of the best, we have developed a classic aviator style by using the most advanced technology. Always offering the highest standards for 100% UV protection, we add a major technical twist to the mix. For this aviator, the entire front face and the lenses are made of nylon, creating a super lightweight & flexible sunglass frame that can be worn all day. You'll never have to worry about eye fatigue or that nagging ear pain you can feel from wearing other sunglasses. Even the lenses are shock-resistant and shatterproof, a style that's genius in both design and performance. 'The Nylon' aviators are the perfect all-around shades whether you are hiking your favorite trail, enjoying the outdoors with your friends, or sipping espresso and window shopping!
In addition, we pack on a Tri-flection Gun Blue mirrored tint for crisp vision and an anti-reflective backing to each nylon lens. Guaranteed zero distortion, these lenses go thru major testing and quality standards that produce a perfect visual clarity only dreams are made of! Truly, these lenses will become your favorite, all-around shades to wear everyday, everywhere!
Church and State Optics™ is a boutique brand with mass appeal. That means we are still a small company that needs help funding individual projects to move forward with our overall vision. With funds raised, we want to produce 3 different colorways of 'The Nylon' aviator: matte white, standard gray, and earth red (see photos below). We must meet the minimum production requirements for this type of technology, which means we need to increase our inventory numbers up-front before we can start selling to anyone.
We are raising these funds to have 'The Nylon' aviators produced and on the market to sell, to create a design milestone for Church and State Optics™! The funds raised here will be used to buy 'The Nylon' inventory, for shipping and import costs, packaging, and required collateral to include with each pair of aviators. Fingers crossed that we go over our goal, we will use those funds directly to hire a Sales & Marketing Coordinator to help us with this production.

OUR COMPANY STORY:
Church and State Optics™ is the precise blend of style and performance. In order for this line to work, these 2 entities have to get along even though it can be a tricky relationship to maintain. It's the balance of fresh aesthetics and advanced technology. As a former NYC fashion editor, I moved to the mountains of Colorado to live the dream of a ski bum. It didn't take very long to realize that all the designs I researched as an editor, and all the ski brands I wore on the slopes, just didn't have the right combo of function and style. So, I got to work on designing a feminine ski goggle, using the best materials, the best factories, and voila, Church and State Optics™ was created! Since then, Church and State Optics™ has produced over a dozen ski goggle styles, and has recently launched its Sunnies collection, a sunglass line with the same performance-based foundation with an eye-candy finish.
As the founder of Church and State Optics™, I am a firm believer in bettering the quality of many things: quality of design, quality of living, and quality of relationships. Quality is a factor that determines longevity, it gives us something to be proud of, something to aspire to and appreciate. I started this company to not just throw another product in the world. I started this company to create something substantial, a product that inspires creativity and accomplishment, fulfills a need in the market, and a revenue for employees to make a living. Every decision for Church and State Optics™ is made with a long-term plan in mind.
The rewards offered on our Kickstarter page are based on what we, as a company, can afford to offer after covering our costs. We hope that our backers understand it is much more than just a product, it’s a real investment into real lives. If we are able to accomplish this project goal, we have the opportunity to grow. This helps expand our market, drive sales, which increase revenue & company growth, which turns into salaries and jobs. And each of these milestones creates a better quality of life, relationships, and design. This is where we need your help in making this Church and State Optics™ project a legitimate success story!
And we want to thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our designer hearts! It was a pleasure to share the story of Church and State Optics™!

Risks and challenges
With any endeavor we undertake, we like to troubleshoot the risks or challenges. With this specific project, our biggest concern would be covering all of the reward costs as well as pay the Amazon.com and Kickstarter.com fees while reaching the necessary revenue needed to fund this project of bringing a totally new and advanced technology to the optic market. As much as we would love for everyone to have our product, it costs money to make it, so we must offer appropriate rewards to cover actual costs in order to gain the benefit of crowd funding! Pretty exciting stuff!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
