To create our first card game entitled "Monster Crabs"
To use the Kickstarter funds for the following:
- Final Payment for the illustrator
- Printing costs
- Shipping supplies
- reimbursements for legal fees like LLC formation and Trademark
This project is complete when the game is printed and ready for distribution (est. November 2012). This Kickstarter will only be used for the creation of Monster Crabs.

Why we wanted to start a business.
Because I wanted to see if I could get money doing work, other than chores. So I came up with a business. I wanted a really huge one, but I have decided to start small and get big. I think and I hope I can do it.
The BIG picture
First we are going to start with a card game called Monster Crabs. Then we are going to make an app for Monster Crabs for phones. After we get a good following, we will make some clothes with the Monster Crabs on them. I don't mean just shirts, I mean other stuff too, like UNDERWEAR!!!! After that we want to make some more games.
How did we come up with our name?
I was telling my friends about my idea and my friends wanted to help. So I got a journal and we wrote down some names and then we passed around the journal and voted on which names we liked. Our favorite was Games Save the World. I like the name because it sounds exciting.
About our first game.
Monster Crabs is a card game. It combines war with rock, paper, scissors. First you deal all the cards out. There will be 16 different crabs in three different elements. Each player says offense or defense and then flips up the card after they said offense or defense at the same time. The person whose card has the highest value wins that round and gets the cards. If it is a tie, you see if it's air, fire or water type. Air beats water, water beats fire, and fire beats air. Those are the basic rules. A full rule set will be included in each box.
Where we are in the business.
We came up with a company name, then we got an LLC set up. We got a tax id number to pay taxes. We opened up a bank account, with the help of my dad. We drew out crab-aracters and tested our game. We have found a illustrator to work with us. We now need to approve the designs and print out the cards. We hope to sell the cards on-line and in stores. We just got our first mock up of our first character. It's the electrofying crab.

My boys have always been trying to get on my iPhone to play apps ever since I got it and made the mistake of letting them "try" it. I kept telling them I was using it for business and that if they had a business they could get their own phone one day. Before I knew it, they had a business set up and hired half the neighborhood to make an online video game. Seeing how I didn't think they would get the 50 million or so in start up funds necessary to pull it off, I told them that if they came up with a good idea, that I would invest $100 in their business, on the condition that it was a good idea and it was something I could get a return on my investment. The next three ideas were gradually smaller in scope but still over the 1 million dollar mark or physically impossible to do. Finally, they came up with Monster Crabs and I was, like, "Whoa, that's a good idea!" After our product testing, I decided it was worth the investment, but more importantly realized the learning opportunity we would have in starting a business. I have been extremely amazed by their excitement for the business and have been surprised by their business acumen. They now understand the difference between debit and credit, we set up an LLC and had discussions on how and what a corporation is. This has evolved into something so much better than anything I could describe to them and with your help we can reach our goal of getting our game in stores and turning a small profit for college.
