About this project

Thank you for your interest in this work.  I look forward to seeing you April 10,11, and 12!

The Request:

I hope that you find in the video above, inspiration to contribute to this exciting project.

Kickstarter will not charge you, unless I attain my declared goal, $4,000, however, I am free to surpass it.  My goal, to fully fund the project, is $10,000.  Every contribution is greatly appreciated and your dollars are matched by volunteer hours.

I have coordinated with the not-for-profit organization Arts for Art, to ensure that all of your contributions are tax-deductible.  You will receive a letter to evidence your charitable donation.

Contributions help:

  • Build the set/installation
  • Theatrical Scrim Fabric
  • LED Lights, and installing theater lighting for special effects
  • Building the water structure, and other equipment
  • Pay for Performers and collaborating artists
  • Film and record the performances

Thank you for your respect and excitement for the creation of this work of art.

The Piece:

‘here, there, nowhere’ is the culmination of two years of development and many years of searching for my distinct voice. Investigating the elements of mortality: birth, life, death, body, mind, spirit; this work is driven by imagery in a landscape of water, fabric, and light.

I am grateful to be able to engage a number of high-level artists in bringing ‘here there nowhere’ to life.

Qasim Naqvi, percussionist and composer, www.qasimnaqvi.com, will be performing live, music that he has created for this work.  He brings with him the talented musicians Areni Agbabian, vocals, and Aakaash Israni, contra-bass.

Maria Garcia, www.mgarciacostume.com, will be supporting the development of costuming, and Jeff Sugg, www.jeffsugg.com, advises the technical and lighting design.

Many others are stepping up to support building the set, recording the work, and running the technical elements.

Most importantly, I look forward to sharing the completed work with you April 10-12 at The Invisible Dog Art Center, I hope to see you all there!!!

I THANK YOU.

Julia Wilkins, Creator. Performer.
